Alarm Problems
Hello All, Long time reader first time posting.Aquired my newest Ram two months ago,2500 CTD 4x4 Big Horn Package, They tried to sell me the factory alarm but I declined. I purchased one myself and installed it yesterday. Not bad to install except you have to take the complete dash apart and that will make you pucker on a brand new truck. The installation manual says the driver's door priority unlock feature must be enabled for the alarm to work and to consult the owners manual for programing it. I took that to mean I had to program the truck so I followed the instructions and when I was done all 4 doors unlocked on the first button push of the key fob( I don't think I was supposed to do this). Installed the alarm and it will not disarm with the key fob. I have to turn the key on and hit the bypass button in the truck much to my neighbors dismay. I ended up disconnecting the horns for fear of being lynched! I cannot reset the unlock feature back to the way it was. I even removed the alarm and it still will not reprogram. Disconnected batteries, still nothing.Tried swapping key fobs( you need them both to program the system).Truck has no codes. Any idea's, Thanks in advance.
My 2004 owner's manual says to simply repeat the steps to reverse the door lock procedure. Assuming your 2006 is the same then re-read your manual and keep trying until you get it.
If you post the type of aftermarket alarm you are working with maybe someone on here has experience with it.

Thanks for replying, it is the Mopar EVS 1 factory alarm system. I have tried numerous times to reset the program according to the manual, it will not do it. There is supposed to be a single chime when it is done and I can not get it to do it.
