the reason for this is that the compressor is spinning faster (spin the engine faster spins the compressor faster) thereby doing more work

the refrigerant in an a/c system converts to a liquid and gas in different components in an a/c system. When you purchase a can, it is in a mixed state but mostly liquid by volume. whether the freon is a liquid or gas depends on the pressure inside the vessel it is contained in.
