Adding Sirius Sportster to truck with sattelite radio already installed

I would like to mount my Sirius Sportster in my '06 which will be coming with the satellite already installed.

1. Is this possible?
2. If yes, how difficult?
3. Would it require purchasing more parts and at what cost?

The reason I want to do this is:

1. Sportster able to display more info. on screen.
2. I can still keep 1 Sirius account and move Sporster from car to home.

* My truck is still on order so I haven't seen the screen display on the stock radio. Can anybody comment on how much (or less) the stock radio display shows vs. the Sportster?

TIA

That is exactly, what I did for basically the same reasons.

I just used the antenna that came with the Sportster and put it right behind the factory antenna. I put the sportster over the right side dash pocket.

I wired a plug behind the dash and plug it in. I ran a mini plug wire to the "aux" out on the stereo.

edited for spelling and grammar.

No you can't use the factory antenna for an aftermarket radio. The factory antennas have a two wire connection were as the aftermarket ones are just one wire.

Maybe I didn't word that correctly. I just don't want to use the add on sirius antenna on my truck, since it already has the factory 6 disc/sirius stereo system with factory installed antenna. On my motorhome,I'll use the whole sportster install kit, antenna and all....and switch the sportster unit from vehicle to vehicle.
Thanks

Yes you can do it. My 06 came with the free 1 yr sub. and I have the sportster replay. The last time I went camping I put the sportster in my truck so that I could listen to it in my TT. Yes, it is possible to have the sporster on in the truck and listen to it in the trailer. Make sure you have the FM att. hooked up that came with the unit, helps broadcast the signal better. And you can still tune the stock radio to your sporster with out having the stock radio picking up Sirius.
