AC soaking passenger side carpet / insulation
Howdy folks -- have another AC issue that I need some insight on.
After returning from a trip to the TX coast the other week, I was vacuuming out all the sand and noticed a puddle of water under the carpet on the passenger side. I pulled the carpet back and found that the insulation padding closer to the firewall was even soaked.
I checked the AC drain -- seems clear. I used BG Products AC cleaner in the hopes to remove any grime from the evaporator and other components. I removed the fan, checked up inside, and did to find anything unusual.
However, when I use the AC now (regardless of recirc or outside air) I get the following conditions:

- Dripping from the bottom of the air handling system
- Warmer air, at lower volume, from passenger side vents
- Condensation dripping off of the bottom of the air box
- Puddle of water / soaked insulation on passenger side only

I didn't see a condition listed concerning dripping under the truck from the "seems clear" drain.
Another item to look at is the refrigerant level. If it is too low, it may create ice in the evaporator box, thus blocking the flow of air, and causing condensation on the outside of the box which drips down the side and onto your carpet.
Just a thought, though, as I'm not an HVAC guy.
Back to morning brew . . .

Reduced airflow and dumping water on the floor could also be a freeze up.
I had an 03 that would do that on particularly hot and humid days. If I recall, the dealer relocated the temp probe. I think there was a TSB.

If I recall correctly you may be able to access the temp sensor via the hole for the fan motor.
If it starts out blowing hard, and gets weak after running AC for a while, that would pretty well confirm it is icing up.

First off thanks to everyone for their assistance -- greatly appreciated!
Update on the issue: took it to a local shop (not the dealer). They found the refrigerant was only slightly low, did a full AC service, and found that there was foam (from the seals around the blend doors, etc.) partly clogging the drain, and the drain tube was twisted slightly upward, not letting the AC drain completely.
They blew out the foam junk, realigned the drain tube, and now everything seems good. BTW -- the drain tube had never been touched by me -- the last folks to even be near it was the dealership when they replaced the blend door under warrantee years ago!
