50K and still cant find this sound!
03 3500 QC drw 4x4, I did a search and cant find anybody with the same type of sound that I have, of course the dealer was no help, it is coming from the passenger side around the front floor board area ( I think ). It sounds like a plastic cup rattleing around, it doesnt get louder with speed and it doesnt sound mettalic, no clunk, it does it the worst at around 40 mph, I think I have tightened everything, including the wheel tubs but to no avail, It just sounds like a big plastic cup ratteling inside of another plastic cup. If I dont get help here then I am really gonna do a header into a screw driver.
Hmmm. Can you have a passenger try to pinpoint the noise for you? One noise I heard about on the '03 trucks was the dipstick tube for the tranny was hitting something in the engine compartment. I would look there first.
Second would the air conditioner box inside the cab. Known issues with the air mixing doors breaking.

Funny you mention the air conditioner, it blows cold on the drivers side but takes quite a while to get cold on the passenger side, the tranny dipstick is something I havent checked either, I told my wife that I would use lots of duct tape to keep her from falling off the truck and keep it under 50 mph and that I would go really slow over speed bumps but she said no, I told her she doesnt want me to find this rattle! maybe I could get one of the kids to drive and I could lay on the creeper while hanging onto the front axel
Maybe you could get a Video cam recorder and record the sound. Maybe even attach it somehow underneath or something to record while driving. Possibly a broom handle with a Mirror taped to it and see if the passenger and see anything while driving. Just trying to think of something to place down around the front end while driving, other then your wife or kids.
Well good help is hard to find, rescue 911 does a sound check around my place all the time, william shatner stares at us all weekend just waiting, I have a new episode at least once a month. I have checked the AC, and the tranny tube, and the I.D. plate (thanks nonford), all seems to be fine, it still sounds like a turkey stuck under the right side somewhere clucking away. going to check the right front shock bolts tonight.
I just tracked one down on my rig after 4 months of frustration. Sounds like the same area, and was a buzzing vibration-type sound. Ended up being a combination of the seatback lever cables buzzing against the seat pan, and the seat slide adjust lever was a bit loose and vibrating as well. Slit about 2' of fuel line to cover the cables, and used the same technique on the seat slide lever back towards the pivot points. Easy fix, and invisible unless you stick your cranium under the seat and look for it.

OK, one last suggestion. It happened to me. Look under the passenger seat and see if your jack is mounted securly. The lug nut wrench on mine came off the clip and was vibrating against the metal. I forgot about that episode.
Well thanks for the suggestions, I have already checked the jack stuff and its difinately not in the cab ( I think ) it happens more when you go over rough stuff, I did find that my right side headlight vibrated and made some of the noise but everything was tight (obviously not ) but I squeezed a small piece of fuel hose between the fender and the light and I think it helped, I got under the truck and put wd-40 on anything that looked like it moved, I even found two grease points in the steering section I didnt know I had, I would like to drive into a large grease pit up to about the top of the tires, But falling on a screw driver is still a close second.
I had a strange noise in my drivers door and found it to be the insulating plastic that that they seel the doors with. They cut a hole for the speakers, which was vibrating not only from the radio, but from engine vibration.
