hey Wex...mine keeps changing also. The PORT ARRIVAL date for Baltimore seems to always stay about 3 days ahead of the current date. Don't get that...

The ETA date just changed probably around the same time yours did from 3/23 to 3/25. I dont' trust these dates, or that website.

I called DC and they have NO CLUE what has already happend, let alone to try and predict when things will ship.

It really just a matter of wait.....

wait......

wait....

....wait....

I haven't even called, them, as I guessed the the rep would be fairly clueless. I know I should be patient, but now, at I'm getting impatient, dangit!

Like you said:

Hurry up and wait some more. You don't supposed they'd let us drive our new trucks up from Baltimore to our dealers, do you?

So, DTR members in PA, NJ, NY and RI are waiting. 3 out of 4 have been over 2 months and at least 2 don't have a "definite" (whatever that means to DC's orders to this part of the country) day their's will be in. Dawall's in CA and he's smiling, as is Tedroe in MI. MedicShawn is smiling, too, after buying from Tomeygun in MO.

To this, add the fact I still haven't seen a 600 at any of my area dealers in MA, although it appears the ordered trucks have been built.

If no one is torpedoing the boats that are coming to the NE part of the country, are the boats passing through the Bermuda Triangle?

When do they stop building the 04.5's? May?

Funny you say that. The dealer told me of a story of a guy who's truck was on that boat which took on water back in December. Well, this guy was moving to Florida and needed his truck before he moved. The whole water fiasco really screwed up the dates and delayed shipment (more then normal ). So, the dealer requested permission from DC to drive down, check out his truck, and if OK to pick it up for him. It was a big 'to-do' with getting security clearance, etc.

So, I don't see them letting anyone of us yahoo's to simply drive down there and pick up our trucks....even though I'm tempted to try it...

That's as good an explanation as any other I've heard.

Trucks are starting to move out of Newark. A dealer a few miles from where I work had a 600 on order that made it to Newark on 2/27 (mine made to Newark on 2/26). His truck was picked up and delivered on 3/6 (less then a four hour drive from Newark).
I went to the dealer tonight and confirmed the truck was really there.
Of course my truck is still in newark .

This truck was already sold so they would not let me take it for a test drive. They did start it up and let me take a peak under the hood. Wow! It was really quite, but you still know its a diesel.
I was amazed at how rock steady the engine was at idle. If I did not hear it running I would not have believed it was running.

As I start my 13th week, I am starting to get excited after finally seeing the elusive 600.

FYI - Insight was up to date and correct! The ETA is still only an estimate. This truck had an ETA of 3/12. VIN delivery pickup is when it leaves Newark. Looks like all VIN delivery pickups have a time of 7:01am.
Dealer said they move out of Newark randomly. Not based on arrival, but based on where they are in the lot. (With my luck first in, last out)

I just went and checked Insight, as my truck, has been showing as due into Port of Baltimore today, 3/9. As of 1:00 pm, the port information is gone. Now, just the Saltillo information (2/27) shows, along with the dealer ETA of 3/22/04.

I hope this means it is just being updated.

Cool Wexman,

The ship date on my truck of 3/10 was Mexcio, the dealer said from past experince it took 8 days for him to recieve the truck from the Mexcio ship date. I will say that I am sure he doesn't have a whole bunch of experince since he has only been a Dodge dealer since last OCT.

This isn't the only Dodge diesel I have waited for, the first one was well worth the wait but was a real pain to get.
I ordered a 1991 2500 in Oct of 1990. the economey really sucked so the Warren truck plant where it was built was working one week on and two weeks off to keep inventory low. My order kept getting pushed to the bottom of the stack of incoming orders.
I was a UAW union rep at the time so contacted the Chairman at the Warren plant asking for help in getting my truck after 90 days of waiting.
With a bit of help from him and his shop stewards I finally got the truck on March 19th 1990. Odd isn't it that March 19th is approching fast.
That was one great truck and I really did make a mistake of buying my 98. If I went by my experiance with the 98 they would never sell me another Dodge truck. Quite frankly many of the dealers in my area have they suck like a hoover rating.
I am also wondering if the same work a week and off two weeks is going on and thats why we can not get answers to the question where is our trucks.
My old GM plant is working at the present time a week on and two weeks off. they are now building Pontiac Grand Am's there.

Alleyooper, it seemed to get built fast enough, it's the "getting it from Mexico to the dealer" part that is the problem.

I would think the dealers would be frustrated by this also. Remember, in addition to sold vehicles, they are waiting on vehicles for their stock. Can't make money unless they sell cars and trucks, and can't sell 'em if they don't have 'em.

I ordered my new 2004.5 600 with the 6 speed in October with a promise for mid Dec. It is now mid march and still no truck. Dealer says the truck is in kzu status. Any ideas on what this is?
