Is your truck make date January, 06'. This is the issue I think Beemo was talking about. He said he worked on an issue with MY 06' trucks I am perty sure. He said the new orifice tube line/ liquid line assembly would fix you up. You can go back and read what he posted for exactly what he wrote.
Hi Folks,
Boy am I am glad I found this forum....
Just traded in my '01 on an '05 and felt great about the deal. I thought life was great, then I took the wife for a drive and guess what "the air does not work on my side" she belts out about my truck!
The exact same problem listed in this string, less air flow on the p side, warmer air on p side and alot warmer on accel!
So back to the dealer I go, nice people, took the truck right back and an hour later returned with the description that it was a little low on freon. Evac'd and refilled....Better although not fixed. I thought I would look into the problem before I pushed any harder for a fix. So I will be calling the numbers listed in the string and take it up with star first. Sure miss the '01.
I will post as I go forward with this...

You all need to tell Customer Assistance you want a FILE opened on your vehicle. Then they are going to tell you to take it in to the dealer for a look see etc..file will pop up in dealer of your choice's system etc. Tell customer no help line about this thread and so on.Its a long process but its how the system works.Apprantly somethings is getting done about it.Beemo is a first! Spooler post about what the tech told you about the NEW compresser being differant. I'm going by the dealer near me and have parts look up compresser number for 03 thur 05 and see if numbers change or are superseaded etc. Gonna check the line part number posted for gigs and see if its showing up yet.
Houndog- Any recent info from Beem0? I just had the recirc door replaced on my Mega Cab after 5 weeks of waiting with no A/C at all. Well...Now during A/C operation the pasanger side blows 20+ degree warmer and it is dependent on start and stop during driving. Same problems others are having. Took it back to the dealer three days later and they called STAR and said 12 degrees difference is acceptable, they will not comment on the 20+ degrees! Yesterday, I had 4 buddies in the truck during a drive across town for lunch, they laughed as 80 degree air came from the pass. side vents. The driver side was at 55 degrees!!!

Beemo had been in touch with SPOOLER or on this site.Is there not a post that BEEMO said he was going to be out of pocket for a few days or a week? STAR been saying THAT for 3 years.I got the same lip second summer I had my 03. The STAR engineers need to use ones doing this to shuttle themselves around with during the day.Call D.C. and get a file OPENED on your also.Tell them what ENGINEERING said.1-800-992-1997. The FILE is for if it takes the next 3 years to fix the darn things to keep it on THEIR nickel. Tell them about this thread and post after post from around the good ole USA.I gave them a earful. Will admint BEEMO appeared after that,Dunno if that was the reason but he's a first. He IS with D.C.
Well guys, been out of pocket today. Took the truck for a four hour drive mostly interstate and it is still blowing warm air out the passenger side vents. They replaced my compressor this week. I talked with the tech for a while on the issue. He stated that the new compressor was DIFFERENT than the old one. I don't know why they updated the compressor. I just know it is different. Beemo is going to be out until first week of September. That is when he said he would be able to get the orifice line/liquid line to me. We'll just keep trying till we get it fixed. Hope he gets back on her perty quick. It's hot and sticky.......
Houndog- Thanks for the reply, yes I have a file started. A couple months ago filed a written complaint with DC and called them everyday sometimes twice aday while they jerked me around waiting for my recirc door. They even lied and said in writing the part was shipped to the dealer. I said good give me the tracking number for the shipment, they said call your dealer. The dealer said call DC, back and forth for weeks... No answer until the California Mediaters office got a letter from me to start things rolling. Thirten days later I had a rental car and two days later the part "just" showed up.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease! Every vehicle has a weak area or two but 3+ years of crappy A/C performance is terrible. A/C is not rocket science or new technology, just fix it or find a new supplier!!!!!
