Polarco:

The best minimum flash levels you posted yesterday are identical to the ones you posted on 10.27.08

There's been no better flashes generated in the last 10 weeks?

Also, build dates have been reported as determining the correct flash, and IIRC trucks born after 4.1.08 should have the '08 AP/AQ flash. However, what about '08 trucks built before that?

Incidentally, I thought the '07.5 trucks should have the AZ flash, not the AY... or is it just the difference between minimum flash & newest flash?

I have an '08 built in Feb. '08 that I want to get the best (latest?) flash on.

p.s. Due to the early build date, doesn't the Cab Compartment Node have to be updated? Isn't that something the tech would have to do automatically to flash the ECM?

Yeah I know. . .That was an old post. I didn't post it for the flashes, I posted it for the EGR. There is later info, I just didn't update that thread.

Anything from July 07 uses the 08 flashes

Agree with Polaraco. My '08 has a Nov 07 build date. Im currently running the AP (manual trans.) flash. Automatic should be at AQ. There is currently an AR flash for the '08s out (for both manuals and autos) but there isn't really enough data yet to determine how they affect the deletes. Early reports show it is responding well (meaning no new problems have been reported). The AR flash is supposed to address some hesitation issues as well as the white smoke at cold startup. Im waiting for the newest software flash for my PMT to be released that supports the AR flash before I upload it.

EDIT: I don't know anything about the cab compartment node you are referring to. My dealership hasn't done anything other than plug the StarScan in and upload the latest flashes on my truck though (i think it was at AD when i bought it) so I don't think it is an issue.

The PMT is supposed to update your flash automatically to the AR That's what 1016 did. It upgraded you to the AQ

Nope. 1.0.1.6 Beta upgraded me from AO to AP. I am currently at AP. I liked AO better, noticed a 50 degree increase in EGT going from the Edge on AO (stock setting) to the PMT on AP (stock setting). Hopefully AR will get the truck running right again, it just seems...different...since uploading AP. I don't think there is an AQ for the manuals. I think they just jumped it straight to AR for both autos and manuals.

Alright guys bear with me here, didn't want to go through 23 pages.

I got a friend with a 07 6spd. Got the BADP delete (codes still) Was wondering if I should tell him to unplug the EGR or will he have any issues that ya'll could fill me in on? I know he mentioned he'd like to get better mileage so maybe this would help him a little. He is patiently awaiting the Smarty too. It will come eventually.

What should I instruct him to do, details please?

TIA
Rick

You can tell him that the easily reversed option is to simply unplug the EGR. However this will still allow some EGR function. To reap the full benefit, he needs to block the crossover tube and remove the butterfly from the intake horn. Then he can remove the EGR if he wants or he can leave it there for a stock appearance.

I went to the dealer today and they updated my truck to the AV flash. I did disconnect my DPF, took all of the sensor loose and put the resistors in the pyro plugs and no codes for a while anyway. I did it before I went to the dealer and they never said anything. Got a p244a later today, as well as the egr p0405 I had pluged the egr back in for the dealer visit.
What's the p244a for I'll look and see if I can find it you guys might already know so tell me.

p244a is a soft code related to the DPF delete. No worries, it is common for those with DPF deletes. Just a soft code, no problem.

Got the delete pipe installed no code for a short trip so far tomorrow I'll get about 300mi on it and see what happens. Since the pressure sensor is not going to see any difference because the tubes are unpluged, p244a will probably show up again.
