Oil requirements after deletes...

Did some searching, but couldn't find an answer to my question...didn't want to call the dealer either lol.

Can I run "normal" 15-40 oil on a deleted 6.7? Or do I still need the CJ-4 oil?

thanks

I believe that some poster have said that they are using the older CI-4 and CI-+4 15W-40 oil after they have deleted. I also think the only way to procure this oil now is from 55 gallon drums. I have not seen the CI-4 oil on the store shelves in one gallon jugs.

I am fully deleted and I am using the CJ-4 oil from Royal Purple buying them at the NAPA stores.

You should be fine with any oil rated CI-4, CI-4+, or CJ-4 These are all diesel specific oils. You should not use standard automotive oils. If you can find CI-4+ at a price equal to or cheaper than CJ4+ that would be my choice. I managed to stash about 40 gallons before it became difficult to obtain and use it in my '99 and '93 CTD's. When I delete my '07 I'll do the same until I run out of supply.
