I don't remember the max numbers they can handle, but MOST people are not trying to hit that number. I suspect it is because of the longer stroke. So the engine breaks at 1100hp or something, big deal.

So if your 5.9 puts out 700hp a 6.7 with similar mods should put out 800hp. Those numbers are rough and there is more that goes into it. The biggest increase is the torque. A 700hp 5.9 will put out 1400 foot pounds and the 6.7 could put out as much as 2400 foot pounds. Now 2400 foot punds seems crazy and not realistic, but that is what Marco is claiming the 6.7 is capable of.

Yes your going to need a built proof tranny. We may not ever be able to use all the torque that a 6.7 can make. The 68RE may not be able to ever be built strong enough to handle to handle torque = HPx3 .

Competition? Whats that all about? There are 10 second common rails out there that don't trash the 6.7 like whats been going on here.

Boosted launches that toasted a stock tranny.. Wow thats odd... Why would that happen? Adding 80 hp and stalling the tranny, wow that is weak isn't it? Brother...

FACT is that the stock engine handles up to 1400°F EGT's normally during DPF regens. And on the stock turbo is VGT, therefore all the oldschool theory about hot air is not factual anymore. Having a totally variable exhaust housing lets you fully vent the exhaust side out instead of trying to squeeze it through a wastegate. The Map is not a straight line anymore.

all i said is while i was at the track, there were a group of guys that were racing also. this one specific guy went once and started to line up for a second pass right away, and i said you shouldnt hot lap ect pull over and let her cool down, but right away his dum friends jumped on me and said it has the 68re in it . its tougher then the 48re that you have. i just laughed that one off.then i said you cant add 150hp to a stock tranny , and do boosted launches and exspect it to survive.what can i say next run it blew.and competition at the local trac, not the country.

Does anyone have a full converter for the 6.7 yet? Someone was saying Goerend or Suncoast was modifying stockers a while ago?

I know someone that has a 07.5 6.7 and I can definitely say they don't like 4wd boosted launches. He did it twice and smoked converters twice.

NO 4wd BOOSTED LAUNCHES FOR STOCK TRANNIES!

There are others on other boards running them and they work good. The 68RE tranny is the real weak link with all the power that is comming out. Smarty (soon), sticks, twins kits, dual CP3's are all avialiable now. Most guys that are pushing out 650-700hp with the 6.7 are running it with a manuel trans.
