Bought 02' , have ?'s , advise plz?

So I;ve been looking for my first cummins for some time now , and finally commited to 1 . >>

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Did I pay a good price?
Squaretraders , an insurace agency through ebay , automaticaly gives me a 3000mile/3month warraty for the truck . 500$ deductable and only covers the engine , no fuel delivery .

They want to sell me either 1) 25month/25K mile warranty for $1,539 or 2)37month/37K for $2,050 . These 2 plans cover tranny , engine , and fuel delivery . 100$ deductable .

I'm wondering what exactly the dodge warranty covers . Do I have another 1year/25K warranty on engine and fuel delivery? That would make these plans basically worthless to me?

Guess basically what I'm saying is I'm new to all this , and would like some advise from the experienced poeple here .

Also I'm in upstate NY and the truck is in conneticut , 600miles . The dealer says he can't give me a temporary tag , and I called NY DMV and they said the same thing . Any Idea what I can do to get it home legaly without towing? It's only 600miles and My firend is a corrections officer out there where I can get a lift to pick it up .

Any and all advise is welcome!

I'll be posting soon on what mods to get .

It should have a 100k warrenty on the engine and drive train. Call a local dealer and ask the service dept.

I don't know what the price should be up there, but it sure is a clean, sharp looking truck.

Sweet,
Like Charlie said, have a service department run the VIN number to find out the warranty. In 2002, there were different warranties depending on when the truck was purchased. It was the last year for the second gen. so towards the end of the model year, before the 3rd gens hit the floor DCX sweetened the pot to make it more enticing to buy an '02 (That's what I did).

Check with Connecticut and NY state to see if a sales receipt is good enough to return home on. We bought one in Mich. and as long as we had that to show law enforcement that was fine.

I would get a good diesel tech to look at the LP and VP44 just incase they are on there way out, even if its under warrenty....the tend to go right when the warrenty is done
