Trying to Build 650HP -2 many opinions -Already have lots of aftermarket -Need advise

I know that I may need to change some items that I have installed. Just try to give an honest opinion. I think some of these things I have installed are not what I need and will bite the bullet.

This is what I have on the truck already (1/26/2013)

Fully built Auto Tranny (local performance shop)
Triple Disc Low Stall torque converter
FASS pump 220 gph 45 psi
BD 3-piece exhaust manifold
66/80 Industrial Injection silver bullet turbo
+90 HP injectors
4" exhaust
K&N air intake
Industrial Injection DragonFly P-pump (12mm)
-Rack Cap
-Laser Cut Del. Valves
- Plate #6
-4k GSK
- AFC-01 Spring Kit
-Pump currently at 18º

I purchased 150# valve springs from Industrial Injection, just havent put them on yet.

Gauges - Pyro, Boost, Fuel Pressure

Boost is reading 40 at WOT. EGT's reading 1500º-1600º at WOT. Fuel pressure is a constant 39-40psi

TRUCK IS LAGGING ON INITIAL WOT FOR 5-10 SECONDS

With this exact set-up I ran 416hp on the dyno
Pretty sure if I keep it this way it needs tuned/timed correctly

I feel that I have been pulled in so many different directions by others so I figured it couldnt hurt to ask for more opinions.

Pretty sure I need to get head studs, a different turbo (66/80 that I currently have doesnt boost until im between 1700 and 2200 rpms), larger injectors, some sort of motor work, etc....

What are your suggestions to get there motor wise as well as any other aftermarket parts/upgrades? If you suggest a part, can you be specific on specs and manufacturer?

This does not tow anything. At times a daily driver, but mostly a toy.

I would dump the low stall converter. That why your turbo is laggy. S366 are laggy to start with. High stall is the fix for bigger turbos.
Get some full cut DV's (181's or 131's work awesome), laser's are smoke/hazey things. Dump the fuel plate. You probably don't need the 150# springs for 4k. Do you have full fueling to 4k? How does the truck idle?

This a 12V head or 24V head? What pistons are in the truck? If its a 12V would run something like a 5X16's at 145 deg's (marine nozzle, 280 bar pop), use the thin injector washer.

What have you done with the AFC? I would see what limiting your rack travel as there is aways something. I would save money and run a stock pump as the 12mm industrial pump is a basic pump, that's been benched.

With the LC...You will have to thighten up your AFC adjustment..A full open AFC with LC will smoke really bad..

Truck idles smooth at 750. Thats what I have it set at. It has a 12v head. Stock motor, so not sure what pistons. Whatever stock is....

Already have the II pump. The original was torqued too much and broke the case.

Pretty sure I am going to get 5x16's; was also considering 5x18's.....is that going to be too much?

When you talk about tightening up the AFC what exactly are you saying? I have verified some of the AFC mods that are typically done. Most Ind Inj had already dont. i.e. flat washer, trimmed foot. I removed the plate yesterday. starwheel is set at approx. 40 psi of regulated air pressure for full travel

I have read many different opinions on my torque converter. I think I need to get a high stall but others say no. also, if I do change to a high stall what do you recommend? and if I change that do I need to replace the stock cam? If so, what do you recommend?

Asking alot of questions; I appreciate your input. Thank you to all.

Full cuts are the same as laser cuts.

Was just going to ask you...Which I haven't seen in your post...Is your truck smoking too much black??

LC...where the only DV valve that seemed to work the best in my truck...But remember...my modes are nothing compared to yours..

Yes the LC will smoke badly...But to make my truck really nice...I had to move the housing back and start thightening up the star screw...It was a lot of trial and error to get the best balance..

Your could experiment with different DV...131 and 181 etc...But you could even control fueling by using different DV seats..You could try using LC in 181 seats..Just swapping seats will control a certain amount of fueling..

You could use 131 valves in 181 seats..Test to see how the truck runs...Then try LC in 181 seat...Give it another test...A lot of combinations..

I did this on my truck..Tested with all combos....A lot of trial and error...With my small 175 pump...I went back to LC and 131 seats...Ran the best...But had to place the AFC housing in the middle and started to thighten the star screw..till it smoked less and the power was just right..

I have a zero plate in my truck...

Truck smokes a lot of black. I put in #100 plate and got less smoke but still pretty "laggy".

Since this post I have decided to do the following:

5x.018 injectors
Head studs
Head gasket
Valve springs
Head work - port polish

This should all be completed within 4 weeks. Then ill start timing and tuning to improve the efficiency of it.

What do y'all think?

Buy a cam. I went with a Colt stage 3, which is the same as the old Hamilton 181/210 cam. It brought in the 66/73 I was running at the time 300 rpm sooner, which was about the same as the 64/71 I had on my 12v. Made a huge difference.

The 5x12's you have should be enough to get your goal if you run a more optimal charger setup. Lots of guys have gone 700+ on 5x14's. Be easier to keep it clean with a smaller injector.
