exhaust brake

Has anyone ever had a problem smelling exhaust in the truck when using the exhaust brake? It smells like exhaust is coming out of the vents.

I have noticed this before but don't know if this is caused by the EB.

I would check for an exhaust leak around the turbo or under the cab your hvac system may be drawing leaking exhaust in and pumping it thru the vents.

More commonly associated with the truck being in regen. Do you notice it without the EB on?

I haven't tried running the truck without the EB, I was told it was less likely to soot up if i ran the EB. So far I haven't found a leak. This is a little off subject, how often should i change my fuel filter?

Running the EB is good!

15K miles on OE fuel filters without a psi gauge.

Any fuel setup can have a psi gauge added, it doesn't have to be an AD. I use a Pricol 0-30 psi gauge,
