Dpf-r

Hi ALL,
I am new to site and getting ready to begin my Mods after purchasing my first Dodge. I thinkt that I want to go with the DPF-R module to have no CEL and have been looking through several websites doing a pricing comparison. My dilemma is that some of the pictures of the DPF-R module differ, however, they all have the DPF-R Logo on the module. Are these the same item?
Here are the links to the websites:

http://www.dpf-r.com/productindexdodge.php

http://cobbsdieselperformance.com/i-...dule-kits.html

http://www.alligatorperformance.com/...or-p-3463.html

I really began to question the pictures when I looked at the alligatorperformance website.
Thanks for the help.
Chris

For the same price as a DPF-R system and the delete pipe you can get a Smarty and a delete pipe.

Im not familiar with anyone running that system and have no insight for you. How ever there are literally hundreds of guys who post regular and thousands more who run the Smarty and love it.

Just throwing it out there.

If you do get the DPF-R system, let us know how it performs.

And Welcome To The DTR!

X3! Smarty is the way to go. If you go with the DPF-R let us know how you like it or not. Why not get some performance and other options for close to the same $?

Thanks for the input. I talked to one of the reps at Cobbs Diesel Performance. According to him, the DPF-r and the Flow pro version of the DPF-R could and can still throw codes after start-up. Not what I am looking for, so I just went on and bought the smarty.
Next question I have, how to program the smarty from keeping the regen from initiating?
I read an online user manual, which did not address this.

Download the ME version from the Mads website. Took me 30 min. That will stop the regen, because it looks as if all is great to the computer. If you don't and do the DPF delete, the truck will go into limp mode. From what I hear, that will then require a trip to the Dealer to correct that problem.

Do the ERG also, but you do not have to remove the actuator, just remove the plunger and spring then put the actuator back on. Would have took me 5 min on the EGR of one of the stupid screws would not have striped.

mine was in limp mode forever because i did the deletes and just had the edge so it wouldnt clear the codes and as soon as i hooked the smarty to it it cleared out
