Add another 07.5 that has suffered from emissions parts mysteriously falling off. Odd how that happens....

Anyway, looking for MPG far more than power and tow about 7k lbs often (extra tall enclosed trailer) ...so which tune should my smarty jr be set on?

I tow about 14000 lbs and am getting around 12.6 MPG @ around 62 MPH I don't remember all the settings I used but I set my HP on 70 extra . I remember I had the same Delema when I set up my Jr .
I called Smarty Jr support and they gave me suggested settings for my purpose.

Anyone running Biodiesel in their truck after doing mods?

Only one place in the city where I live that I can buy it (near my work), but was thinking about giving it a try. Except for needing to change the fuel filter after a couple of tanks, should I be concerned about anything else?

If you delete using a dpf delete pipe with bungs and a smarty jr will the stock egt probes function? Like if I used my Bully dog as just a monitor will I see a EGT? Also is the smarty jr a download and unplug sorta thing or does it remain plugged into the OBD plug all of the time like my Bully Dog? When deleting the DPF is it better to get a downpipe while I am at it and set the Cat aside?
Thanks,
Ben

I am not sure about the stock EGT probes still working and being able to be read. If you have a monitor all ready, you should just go ahead and put your EGT probe in the collector pre-turbo anyway. Otherwise, it is kind of like trying to read with foggy glass lenses...

Yes, the Smarty is a plug in, and down load, then remove operation. There is a POD (power on demand) function that if you want to use it the Smarty would then remain plugged in so you can adjust when you wanted. I just adjust and remove it because I don't find the need to want to make changes...

If you don't need to bolt your stuff back on then I would change out everything from the down pipe on... I can't, so I just go with the delete pipe for the NOX/DPF and leave the CAT in...

No tricks. Just a couple of connectors and 4 bolts. Easy.

Smile The swap

Blake I wish I could have read this "Before" i did mine. I have learned alot today I finished the cooler delete (Tools needed) H&S book of directions is not correct (order wise), and other things like the Trans dip stick hanging in mid air , the ccv line also, just little tid bits that others need to know. But you article is terrific, James With RSD is good he could improve a little but he does know his stuff.I can ad too your change out to help all others be faster. Just so, all will know check your local laws ours ( i checked with DOTD ,State, and Federal laws ) emissions on Diesels Will not be implemented until 2012 so anything before do what you want and it will pass! Buy what you need from whomever but I recommend RSD just my preference, the H&S items are great , but i will call them in the am about some flaws. One thing People, if you do the Delete Do It All The Way EGR Cooler , and programmer . Fuel economy will "WILL" increase ,Power out of this world. Thank Blake for the play by play change out I wish I would have seen it sooner. Oh well we Live and learn.
