Wondering about Smarty

To start with I have an 06 2500 4x4, 4 door short bed 6 speed, Bullydog TD with crazy larry, quadzilla boost fooler, AFE intake, and a straight pipe. I am about to get a new clutch and I have talked to Southbend. Anyone have any better suggestions? My main question is about the smarty that I have heard so much about. I love to race, but when I pull I want to go. When I say pull I mean 30 to 45 thousand total combined weight. My bullydog seems to do fine but I want to know about the smarty when pulling, not just racing. My cousin bought a Banks 6 gun and said that it ran loaded almost as well as unloaded, but Im not a Banks fan. I am wanting to know how does the Smarty compare with the Bullydog, EGT, Pulling, mileage, racing? I have read alot of post on here but havent found anything really that relates to what I am looking for. If anyone has any info I would sure appreciate it.

the smarty has more options to adjust, that you could probally find a better tow tune as well as a race tune. it may take more time to find the right tune, and the smarty isnt adjustable on the fly but changes take 2 minutes to download. Both are good, you would just have to try one and see what works best.

I ran the Bully dog for three years. I was hesitant to try it but ran in to someone who wanted to trade even up to have a look over the fence and It has been my favorite mod yet. I tow 16k bumper pull and my temps are about one hundred degrees cooler than the outlook on performer with my TNT on #3. The bullydog was setting codes left and right and now I haven't had a code in over a month since I got it. Top End power is also way better but I sure do miss the on the fly adjustments. Now I just drive like a nut everywhere I go. Can't get caught with your pants down on level 1#

Thanks alot for the useful info guys. I am leaning towards it more and more but would still like to be able to ajust on the fly. Maybe that will come soon from what I am reading. The main thing that I didnt want to get into was buying something else, not liking it, then going back to what I had in the first place. Also, should I be looking at anymore mods so support the fueling of the Smarty? Im not new to diesels by any means, just all I have ever done is, air intake, exhaust, and programmer. I used to trade every year, but with all the problems I have seen with the new ones, I think I'll just keep this one and see how far I end up going with it. Thanks again

If you want to run the TNT program and higher levels you're gonna need everything from lift pump, cp3, stix, turbo(s), good clutch (SBC), and plenty of $ because no matter what you will want even more.

The Smarty worked better on my truck than the Bully Dog in every way. As far as towing....my truck ran a solid 100 degrees cooler, got off the line better w/ a load, and maintained speed easier with the Smarty. Mileage was also better towing with the Smarty....

I don't have a bad thing to say about my Bully Dog either...it worked very well, the Smarty just worked better. If there wasn't a Smarty, I'd still own my Triple Dog....
