Wondering if old truck rims fit the new trucks

a buddy is selling his 1998 ram 2500 v10
he is buying a new2004.5 ram 3500 ctd
would his old rims from his first truck fit the new ram?
We would just swap rims and see if they do but his new truck wont be here for another 6 weeks and someone wants his old truck right now.
Thanks in advance
G.G.

Unless he has aftermarket rims that are 17" or larger the answer is no. The 3rd gen trucks have larger brakes so only 17" or larger rims will clear the calipers.
