Looks good, you have the new logo design. Ive got one of the first ones in blue. Smart guy you washed b4 the pics.......Did you notice a little quicker spool and slightly more power at the lower end?

Now you need a nice free flowing filter and tube to the turbo for the full effect of the better flow.

Hey Levi, did you add the AFE & the grid delete at the same time?

No, ive had the AFE for a few months now, i could tell a huge difference in the power below 2200 rpm the first time i drove it(that was with no programmer). I just put the grid delete on yesterday. I cant tell much difference with the grid delete...yet ALthough i just leave my smarty jr. on economy..and ive only driven a few miles so far, paying attention to my newly installed stack. The AFE was VERY noticable.

Im leaving the stock intake on....i have the airaid intake baffle delete tube....but i left the stock 90's with the turning vanes in it because i think they help. Im sure they were put there for a reason. Much like an hvac system. If i have to sacrifice a little flow for good reliable filtration so be it. Plus i get too much whistle as it is with the ring and baffle gone. I dont think i would like the scream of an open intake.

I washed my truck....and every time i wash the truck i wash off under the hood as well.....makes keeping it clean easy!

i deleted my heater grid and got a code the second time i started the truck. scanned it w/ my smarty and it said the ecm did not detect a voltage drop from the grid. so what im thinking is to just relocate the grid somewhere else in the engine bay to fool the ecm. anyone got any suggestions where to mount it? im thinking it would probably be a good idea to keep it someplace clean and as dry as possible, what do you think?

it may very well be, but if i can do it safely then why not? i sure dont want to drive around w/ a check engine light on all the time even if it doesnt affect performance and im not about to clear the code everyday either.

what about mounting it in between two blocks of aluminum to contain the heat and setting it aside somewhere in the engine bay? just thinking out loud......

Will your truck even start when it's cold without the grid, or are you guys using ether now?

it was in the low 30's and the truck started fine but threw a code. i think it would have to be extremely cold for it not to start although it ran rough for a couple seconds in the 30's.

if i cant find a way to safely mount the heater somewhere else to trick the ecm than i will just leave it in for now but i will be testing the delete on the dyno and the track eventually.

i just hate to have the cfm+ w/ a big restriction under it, seems like it would defeate the purpose to me.

My truck will throw same code when it gets cold. As it warms
up during the Day the code will go away by itself. I still get
same heat, it just take's longer.

my code didnt go away by itself, i had to clear it. the heater grid should not effect the cab heat in any way, the engine should still warm up just as quickly w/ or w/o the grid. mine did anyway.

just checked the local weather and its going to be the coldest tonight so far, down to 14 deg. and around 0 w/ windchill. im going to try to start it in the early morning w/o the grid and see what happens.

im sure it will probably start w/ a little hiccup or two, but i just wanna make sure before i get stuck somewhere w/o my grid in place.

tied them to the side.
