Will Boost Elbow Help Anything??
So I bought an Edge Boost Elbow from Ataboy because I planned to buy the Quad Race Module (and it does no boost fooling on the '03). I'm still going to get the race module, but I need to hold off for a little while.
If I go ahead and install the boost elbow will it do anything for me?? I tend to think not because I don't think a stock truck makes enough boost to need to "fool" the CPM.

The 03 Race module does boost fooling but, the 03 does not have an electronic wastegate so we cannot really control boost. The elbow will work great with the module as it will allow you to make as much boost as you want without the truck setting the engine light and de-fueling.
If you use the elbow without something that does boost fooling then you will most likely set an engine light if you go above about 24psi or so.

I thought the elbow WAS the boost fooler?? Doesn't the Edge boost elbow make the truck THINK the booster is lower than it really is while at the same time letting the turbo build more boost??

it makes the mechanical wastegate see boost at a lower/ slower rate. you still have to electronically fool the computer to keep from setting codes and defueling.

My TST came with a boost fooler. I had it set at 39PSI to start defueling, to try and save the stock turbo. I have turned the turbo "saver" OFF, and have hit 45PSI with my stock turbo. So, I turned the "saver" back on to 37PSI now.

I would leave the elbow off for the turbo's sake. I can pin my 35psi gauge w/ just the Quad race. I can feather the throttle at 27-29psi and see the wastegate opening and closing, at WOT the wastegate can't keep up.

I installed an elbow when I got the Quadzilla XZT tow box which it has been removed because it started giving me a CEL with P0237 code, left the boost elbow on and I see 32 psi no problems and no codes.
