wife concerned about Bullydog - best mode for MPG in town?

she LIKES the perf mode! and i saw in a thread where it was best for regular driving, but mine actually went down a few MPG

(might be due to the loud pedal staying in the LOUD position..)

it was showing ~16 in perf,
and put in TOW mode today, showing ~18 now.

know overhead can be off, but that makes me feel better.
will fill up in morning (3 cent off on Friday) and hand calculate again this week.

thd 4:10's kill MPG best i can tell
need to get the 285's to overcome that, may do that with taxes?

I have an 03 HO with the tripledog and the overhead actually seems to be right on. That's the only mod I'm running right now, but in combination with others it would be off.

Short answer: no MPG increase.

I have the new triple dog set on performance mode. I believe that my gas mileage has acutally gone down. And, No, I am not driving the truck any different. I called Bullydog yesterday and they told me that it should be different on the highway, but around town, I probably wouldn't notice any difference.

my personal opinion that anyone who says they get better milage in a 90hp setting is bs'ing people.

I think people who talk about 2-3mpg increase with boxes in general are full of it. either that or my truck sucks. I didn't get any of that magic. then again I go by odometer and not overhead. My overhead is consistand though. I can honeslty say I don't really seem to lose any milage if I drive normal but there is no gain. this the juice though.

I have come to a conclution though. either these trucks have massive variation. Or some people on these board are just not honest about milage.

On tow mode I get a 1mpg increase. On performance, I lose about almost 2. I feel that tow is best for daily driving.

I've got 4.10s also.
It's not the gear that kills the milage, it's the SPEED.
I have achieved 22 MPG at 65 mph (~2100 rpm)
The faster I go, the worse the milage gets.

You want milege???

Download the Crazy Larry download, hop on the interstate set the cruise, reset your avg. mpg meter and watch it go from 17-18mpg's at 70mph to 23-26mpg's at 70mph. Those with 3/4 tons & 2x4 one tons will probably get a little bit more.
EGT's will be higher so may want to be able to monitor those.
