Why is it

that when my truck is in STOCK mode and I tow my 13k trailor up 6 or 7% grades, and mash the go pedal, it seems to fall on its face? If I hit the bottom of the hill at 70mph and DON'T floor it up the hill, it maintaines speed pretty good, but if if half way up the hill, I hit the floor with the skinny pedal, it feels like the power instantly falls back? If I let up a little off the floor, power seems to come back a little. Of course when I have the smarty on level #3, it goes great even floored. So, explain to me why this happens? Thanks guys.

Jason

Probably hitting the engines EGT levels, and it's backing down. Somewhere, I once read that the ECM has a defuel set on it somewhere... don't quote me on that, tho...

When I was stock I had the same issue. I added a TAG and it would pull better on the hills.

Well, no need for the boost fooler. I run the smarty all the time anyway, so I never have a problem with towing. I guess if I was going to run stock, then I would add a boost fooler. Hard to believe truck would get that hot with all my air mods. EGT gauge doesn't even hit 1200 stock up a steep long hill and it feels like it defuels. I don't know, but thanks for the sugestions guys.
