I hve searched the forums and I have not been able to find a thread explaining the difference in the 'stages' of air flters.

So what is the difference in the 'stages' of filters?

If you are referring to the AFE Stage I and AFE Stage II that people refer to, then it is just two different air intake products. AFE Stage I is the filter box and filter only. It uses a 4" filter inlet size filter. The AFE Stage II is the filter box and down tube to the turbo inlet all in one product. It uses a bigger filter with a 6" filter inlet size filter.

 

Isn't there supposedly a Stage 3 in the works?

Is AFE the only intake system that does the different stages?

It sounds like not only is the setup different, but it sounds like there is a larger intake tube rather than using thestock tube, is this correct?

 

The AFE Stage 2 with ProGuard 7 is definitely your best store-bought option!
