Unless your going to put some sort of lift on your truck, the 37's are gonna be VERY tight on a leveling kit. In short, I would stick with 35s and a leveling kit unless your going to put a couple inches on her.
My buddy tried the 37s and a leveling kit and was lifting his truck within the month...

Well, I know it sounds like what the heck is this guy doing, can't he make up his mind, but I got a really great offer on a (less than 500 miles) set of the new General Grabber in a 35x12.5r17 for $800 bucks out the door. I couldn't pass it up. Havin' em mounted this Saturday. Will provide a link to pics on Monday. Can't afford new wheels at this time but they are a must and sure to follow as soon as I can......

Thumbs up

Well Congrats on pulling the trigger on your new rubber. I'd be interested to know what kind of mileage you get out of those (don't personally know anyone running those).
Are you doing the red letters out? That should look interesting if so...send pics once you have them on.

Thanks cstewart (and everyone that helped), it was a tough call considering the choices I had. Do I go new, barely used, same size I run now, or larger. My head was spinning. And things like this always take me 10 times longer to make a decision than most people anyway. Heck, I am so **** I even do a spreadsheet with the tire data and pictures of each tire and have a color coded rating system.

It's funny though, after all of that it boiled down to the most primal reason, money. But the price was so good that even I am willing to take a chance on a tire so new to the market, but let me tell ya, the "just do it" attitude has anxiety level a little high for me right now.

Hahahahaha, (nervous laugh) I mean it's not like it's completely untested. It was (and still is) a popular off-road racing tire. And I did read enough reviews on other forums (dodge, toyota, ford) and none were negative. Of course there are no snow use reports or longevity reports because they are so new but......... I know what I saw in person looked considerably heartier than the online photos depict. They remind of something you'd see on a military vehicle, and look seriously indestructible. And the previous own said they were incredibly quiet and did really well on dry and wet pavement.

Yes, I will try to drive the truck as much as possible after installing them to get some numbers back on here but the big test will be Bike Week in September. I will towing a 7x16 enclosed trailer a long enough distance to get some pretty reliable figures.

You know, I have never been a fan of white letters out, simply because I hate having to keep them nice looking or even the whole wet look thing for that matter. This time I am gonna go "red" letters out. For two reasons, one, the truck is patriot blue and silver met. (looks almost white) so I'm thinking (and I know this is corny) Red White & Blue, and the second reason is they are the only tires on the market (right now) with red letters and I like to be different. So yea, numbers, pics the whole nine yards. And I think I am gonna go with XD Series Hoss style wheels in the black and poished, as soon as there is a little more disposable cash for them.

ok, so I have some pics and my initial review is a good one. First the photos:

So I don't know if it's the weight of the truck or the rubber compound, or the tread pattern or what but blindfolded I would swear these were All Terrain tires. They are not as loud as I had expected. I mean, granted my XAT's were wore down pretty good, and on their last legs but but these things are much quieter. The ride is planted, and not loose at all. I had it at a lot of different speeds, up to 80-ish and they felt smooth at em' all. Actually got a very brief rain shower on my way into town and got worried (first 15 minutes of rain bla bla bla) so I just kept a little more distance between me and the guy in front of me but never once did I feel anything abnormal. And this was a two lane blacktop country road with a lot of bends. I later went to a party at a friends and had to park in a field with an incline, grass/clay. Everyone was trying to be sensible about it all and not spin, and I think I was the only pickup that accomplished it.

They do get a lot of stares, and not only from other truck owners. A lot of muscle car owners were bendin' necks. I guess any piston head that sees the red letters wonders "what the heck is that". Maybe they think they are dumb, like I colored them red. All I know is, for my $800 bucks and even full price depending on how they do in the snow, and how long they last, these are a pretty great M+S rated load range E tire so far. I think they are so unique looking. Now all I need to do is get some new wheels, the OEMs don't do them justice. Heck I may even put a little armor all on em to gussy them up a bit. Naaaaaaaa, then they'd just collect more dust in them fields...........
