What kinda miles are people getting out of the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T? 35x12.50x17
Is it a good tire? Finding them for a good price, around 1,150 shipped. This is for the 35x12.50x17.
I'm down to about 20-30% on my Hankooks.
I'm also considering toyo a/t's for the mileage but I don't know if I'll have the truck long enough to benefit from that.

They've been a great tire. I can say 2-3 of them probably have 25-30% left and one I think I saw had a little less when looking them over the other day.
I have about 38K on them. I'm pretty sure I can get another 7K out of them but I think I'll take them off and try to get a couple hundred for them on craigslist or keep them for when I sell the truck or whatever.

I have 20K on mine and and they look **** near brand new (course' I rotate every 5K). I have been through everything from BFG A/T, BFG M/T, & Mickey Thompson MTZ. Bar none the best tire for performance and wear yet!

I have a set on my 2007 3500 mega cab 25000KM on them and they still have about 90% on them. I find they have a nice ride on and off road. On the high way they do make noise but not much compaired to other M/Ts I have had over the years.

You've got 25k miles and 90% tread left?! That's great!!!!!!! What size are you running? I'm looking at the LT295/70R18's to get the load range E and to keep the width to a minimum for better snow traction.
And speaking of which, snow traction is relative to region. Wet Snow vs Dry Snow plays an important role in the type of tire you should run. Most All Terrain tires will load up instantly and hold it in wet snow. More sipes will certainly help with wet/icy traction but is it really all that necessary with a M/T tire that has a primitive form of them designed into the tread pattern like the Trail Grappler, especially under so much weight? In Maryland it's always wet and sloppy snow and it ices up quickly on the roads. I have read a lot of really good reviews about the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T in regards to "On-Road" performance, such as noise, handling, traction. But my biggest concern is traction on roadways in the rain at highway speeds and also while towing in the rain. Wear, too plays an important role for my and my money. I have over 55k miles on my current tires but they are almost gone.
I am subscribing to this thread because the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T is a front runner right now in my choice of replacements for the Pro Comp Extreme A/Ts I have now. They are excellent tires but like I said, they load up with snow, wet grass/clay very easily and the torque of the Cummins doesn't help matters so I loose traction quite quickly and easily, in the rain they are superior to any truck tire I have ever tried, and I suspect any other tire with as many sipes would be equally as good. I have read a lot of bad reviews about the Dura Trac tires and it could be the strength factor, air pressure, size etc but I always hear words like "squirm" "boat like" "too much flex" and these terms scare the heck outta me. I have read too that they can't handle the weight and don't last as long as they should under our trucks, otherwise I would have these now. They look like they perform very well and most likely do under the right rig............

Just re-read some of the other posts, and you guys are really digging these Nitto Trail Grappler M/T! I like that..just upped the standing in my book, so glad I am a member here!!!!!!
honestly, in this economy it's crazy to consider anything more than "works fine" but if that were the case we would be driving trucks with spark plugs so I don't think $300 a piece (about average, incl. M/B, with that a little on the high side) is too much money for all that rubber. And I hate to sound vane but they are freaking awesome looking. And if you do a search you will see that rubber prices have risen recently and they plan on them going up even more.........why I want to get mine now........
Just got a call from the tire store that my new 295/70-18 Nitto Trail Grapplers arrived and they were all mounted up on the MKW M19 18x9 wheels I ordered. Will likely have to wait until tomorrow to go pick them up though.
