van aken mileage

Hey just wondering, I was thinking about getting the van aken and while looking through posts I have not seen anything about there effects on fuel mileage. If you run a van aken then you could put a rok tek sensor on to advance the timing to get better mileage right? Just wanting a slight power increase. I had the xzt quad and liked it, but it had some small issues with my truck and just wanted to try a different direction.

I had one on my 03 along with the Quad Race box. When I ran the VA box only, I had no change in mileage. I was just glad that the mileage didn't go down....

Thats what I was thinking since it adds duration only. Do you think w/ a rok tek it would increase slightly due to the timing or is that not a smart thing to do?
How did you like the van by its self. I just want a slight bit of bottom end, maybe a hair bit more fueling than stock, nothing radical.

It will work well with the Rokktech. As with almost every other box I have run, the Van Aaken C3.2 seems to do nothing on the bottom end but fuels hard on the top end. It's pretty expensive too if you buy a new one. The only fueling box I have used that seemed to help bottom end power is the Quadzilla box. The power comes on sooner and is smoother across the curve. Stacking the two will give even better botoom end. In fact, when I stacked them on my 03 the truck would get sideways when it shifted into second gear! It made much more bottom end power than the TST/MP8 stack I ran later on but it didn't have the top end power. The drawback is that the stack may give high egts...
I'm considering putting a VA box on this truck right now along with my Quad box.....

Which quadzilla box did you have? I have a VA 3.1 and it works great but I would like some more low end it really doesn't come on until about 1800 or so rpm.

I have the Edge HOT Juice and wasn't too thrilled about the off idle response on the bottom. I later installed a Van Aaken C3.1 hoping it would help and it has. It's night and day compared to just having the Juice alone. Haven't hand calculated the mpg yet, but the overhead has gone up 2-3 mpg and I'm definitely getting more miles between fill-ups. Worth the money, but I'm wondering if the Quad XZT would do the same thing...at a cheaper price.

The 3.1 and 3.2 are very different. I'm not sure if they can be stacked together. Give them a call.....
It seems that any good stack gives better bottom end power.

I called VA before I bought my 3.1 to find out about stacking with the Juice, but I also asked them if it stacks with the 3.2 and they say it stacks very well. He said they were coming out with something new that would be similar to having both boxes in one. Not sure when though.
