The only HE 351 that I know is currently available in the US is the HE 351 CW. That particular model of Holset turbo is available in more than one housing and turbine configuration, including a marine version. To be safe it is wise to verify the following from the data plate on the compressor housing:

Assembly or Part Number
Holset Part/Assembly Number for the turbocharger is the number quoted in all Holset publications and is the most useful number for service purposes.

Serial Number
Holset Serial Number is unique to your turbocharger. This number can be used to identify which turbo you have.

Customer Part Number
Customer Part Number is the number given to the turbocharger by the engine manufacturer. This number will be quoted in all the engine manufacturers' literature. There may be more than one Customer Part Number for each Holset Part Number (you will need to verify the part number and sequence serial to know if you have a match to your engine requirements).

This is a unit from turbochargers.com....he claims that it fits 03 dodge.....now in looking at tis unit, there is no plate that you are talking about....just a bar code label from holset and it has these numbers on it.

(P) 4036836 17- 4036835

(S) 0110176 type- he351cw

If any of that can help anybody with if this will fit my truck, i would be greatfull.
Thanks
Allen

The P is the part and the S is the serial number. Call a Cummins Service Center and have them do a cross reference on either number, and they will tell you if the part is a Cummins cross, and to which engine.

Is that OEM on a '04 0r '04.5? if it is for an '04 you will not gain anything by using it, the '03s use the same turbo. But I am guessing it is off a '04.5 since the # on my '03 turbo is:

P3599811 17 4035044

So this turbo will gain you a little, but you probablely can get something better aftermarket (B1, SPS66, HTT)for not much more

the he351 is the oem for the "600" engines i believe.. the early 04.5 doesn't have the command gate solenoid built into the compressor housing i believe, the 05-06 have the solenoid screwed into the compressor housing

[i am going by memory here though, so i might be wrong, but i am 90% sure i am not]
