I have the 04 dually 5.9 and was wondering which tuner to run bully dog or edge I dont race it around town just looking for a little extra already have the fass,banks intake,and exhaust the truck had just under 24k and is manual trans I don't want to spend an arm and a leg

 

Consider a Smarty or a Smarty Jr. on a mild setting. I did this, with a Smarty Jr, on my '06 and it lowered my EGT's approx. 200 degrees, when towing 12,000 #.

You also have another option, HP tuners.

 

The best choices for that year has always been smarty (or jr) with Diablo Predator a close 2nd. BullyDog was better for 05-06 than an 04. However, BD has a reputation for eating ECM's. Edge tends to run hot for the power it produces and really not that popular a choice.

 

For the price it's hard to beat the Smarty Jr. Can find the Jr's used for a very reasonable price but make sure they're unlocked from the previous user.

 

I also agree on the Smarty Jr for what you are looking to do.

 

I have a Bully Dog on mine and it does fine. Easy to use and the monitor is nice. I have the Pyro probe in my manifold pre turbo. Been on my truck for 25,000 miles.

 

I would recommend either:

EDGE Insight coupled with a Smarty JR

OR

Smarty Touch
