TST and P0336 Code

Does anyone have any new thoughts or experiences with tripping the P0336 code with the TST?

In the past, 17 thousands sensor clearance, bad vs good wireing harness, and new versions of the programing were discussed.

Mine just did it for the first time this morning...a couple of small misses while on high idle warming up tripped the code.

Help please!

Did you get the CEL also? Do you have the new program? I purchased AK's TST after I returned the problem unit that I had. Using the box that caused AK problems on his truck has not set any CEL's or caused any misses on mine. I've gotten the code once now but no CEL this time and still no misses. It may have happened when I installed it. I've been trying to set codes and no-go. I'm even running it in combination with the VA C3.1 and still nothing. The only thing I can figure is that it's a combination of TST build variances mixed with truck variances. Everyone seems to have slightly different issues.

I got the CEL. I have the new program...don't know if it is the newest...

My first wire harness had major problems. The second has worked fine till this morning. I never felt the miss...only may have heard it as my trucked warmed up for a minute or so on high idle. I have not checked the sensor clearance yet.

Love the box...would like to just weed out the small kinks. If the harness totally craps out...the truck does not run...trust me.

Sorry dude. I ground the shoulders on my crank position sensor, bringing it in to .017, and it did nothing for the miss. Changed the power leads to circuits that didn't have as much draw from other components, still no change. I had my harness checked out by TST, and it checked good. Also tried three different program variations, one of which was the very latest. All to no avail. Of course, I send it over to Richard and it works just fine. Go figure. Guy has all the luck....and now a fast truck.

If it helps, other than the occasional miss and the code, truck ran fine. It never did nor ever will hurt anything......except pride when it misses and lights the dash while your giving your Ford driving brother-in-law a ride to show off.

My miss/error code/CEL went away.... just do not let the high idle sit at 1100 when warming up...I use something faster...no problem...light and code are gone.

Wierd. I will just enjoy now...till/if it happens again.

My truck sets the code at low idle (750) within one minute of a cold start. It does it about once a week. It has never done it on a warm engine. It seems to miss three times before the code is set. If I hit the accelerator pedal hard enough to get the rpm up to about 1500 when I feel the first miss it won't set the code.
