TST boost elbow
I put the tst boost elbow on my truck the other day and all I can say is WOW! That little 25 dollar part did wonders for the performance of my humble little truck. Before with the quad box on 100hp the egt's hit a max of 1526*, now with the boost elbow on I am up from 30# of boost to 34.5# (backed out of it because I was coming to the turn to my house) and haven't even gotten it over 1250*. I knew that it was going to help but I never expected to see that much change. I will definitely say that it was worth $29 with shipping to see that big of an inprovement. What is a safe criusing boost pressure on the stock turbo? I have been trying to keep mine below 30# sustained and infact don't think that I have run it over 29# on a sustained run. Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to spit the guts out the tail pipe soon cause I don't have the cash to put a new turbo in yet.

There have been several write ups, that on an 305/555 motor, anything over 24psi is just excess heated air. It is also a faster way to burn out the turbo.
I am suprised you are getting cooler EGTs.

24 psi is where the turbo is most efficient with its little 9cm housing. I've sat at 33 psi for ever at 1350 towing and my little turbo has 135k miles on it. The big thing it can't handle is 40+psi surges and letting off the big boost quickly. I think 34 psi is at the extreme end of the efficiency map but it depends on the day ....temperature, air pressure, and humidity. Hot air is better than no air. ks
i got an 2003 with a 6 spd, and i can get 34.5 psi with out the elbow on my truck. I dont know how it does it, all i who is its got some major get up and go. Also, everyone also talks about hitting high egt's, i have only hit 1300 max. and thats with the BDDL on 90hp setting and my BD chip on 130 hp. And yes my factory clutch does hold this power just fine. Just my thought. Also, i talked to a cummins tech up here, and he looked it up in his book, these turbos on the 2003 dodges are good for a max of 36 psi boost, and they will only crater if you run it constantly at over 32psi boost. But to just play with it once in a while he said is no problem.
Thanks guys i didn't think that I was pushing into a range where I was going to hurt it but wanted to see what yall thought. It really did lower my max egt's at wot, especially on longer high speed runs. May not have been suposed to do that but I'm not willing to look the gift horse in the mouth.
