I run my tripple dog on performance all the time and every once in a blue moon when some gasser thinks he can take me I switch to crazy larry, run em, and right back to performance. Am I Asking for trouble without any tranny mods? I also drive like an old lady (no offense to old ladies) when I have it on performance. Should I be running on tow? What do yall think? Thanks

 

I ran my triple dog on performance most of the time. I would do the same thing, put it on crazy larry to blow some smoke or race somebody. my tq converter got to where it would slip in overdrive if I would dog it out to roll some smoke. I would be careful with yours. I ended up just replacing converter and tranny so they didnt explode. my truck has 11k miles on it.

 

I run crazy every now and again. My truck still runs as good as new.

 

If I bought a torque converter would this take care of my worries? How much would that run?

 

a suncoast triple lock is 1300. that wont make the tranny unbreakable by any means. you can run a different valve body as well and it should help out also. many tranny builders told me with a 3rd gen if your buying a tq converter get an aftermarket flexplate also. the stock ones are weak.

 

you might want to upgrade the valve body to increase the line pressure your clutches will than you

 

Will The Tc/vb/flexplate Be Able To Handle Crazy Larry? Ive Been Wanting To Run It In My Truck For A While But Im Scared That Im Gonna Eat The Tranny. So Im Plannin To Beef The Tranny. But I Just Dont Want To Under Do It When I Build The Tranny.

 

I ran Cl on my 05 all of the time, towing,driving no matter what I was doing. i did have analog guages and the outlook monitor so I could watcht the motor's paramater's but never did anything to the tranny! I wasn't stupid though... I was running a 6" lift with 37's and 20's. So as long as your smart you should be ok but nothing is fool proof.

tranny fluid is not cheap either. name brand stuff is $5 a quart. parts are 2200 that I figured for good stuff. then to have someone install it. may be 2500 or so. I know all the stuff together works great and holds alot.

 

My tranny with flex plate and deep pan installed was just under 6k canadian
