Well I upgraded my tranny to a HTS with a triple disc this week. At the same time I also updated my Smarty Jr with the 12-13-07 update.
Here is the problem. The truck seems like it has no more low end and even when it winds up it doesn't move like it did on the highest setting. It also doesn't smoke anything like it used to.
I figured that with the tighter converter the truck has a harder time building boost down low. Am I right? Should I sell the Jr and go for the Sr now that I have the new tranny? Will that improve my low end? I thought that the 12-13 update only took care of the shift indicator lights. Where there other modifications with this update?
Also, it seems as though at WOT the converter will lock in 3rd. When it shifts into 4th, it is more than a firm shift. It almost feels like a shudder. Should this be happening? I thought that with out a lock up switch, it should lock up after overdrive kicks in. Should I have gone with a single disc converter?

The TC has and always will lock in 3rd and then unlock to shift to 4th and then re-lock once in 4th. You just feel it more now because of the higher pressure and tighter TC. Also, with the tighter TC, you do loose some low end power. What size are your Nittos? Tall tires kill bottom end power. Injectors would help the bottom end as well. Does the JR do boost fooling? If not, a boost fooler would also help.
I'm not sure but I don't think that the converter is unlocking for the 3-4 shift but I could be wrong. Any thoughts?
