Tire pressure in 315's/35's

What is everyone running?

I am running 45 front and rear unloaded. The back seem to crown a little and the front sag a little, but after constant tire rotation the wear is even.

I am wondering two things...is this affecting my mileage and how this acts in 4x4. It seems like maybe I would get better mileage with a little more air, hopefully not to the expense of ride. It also bothers me in 4x4. The diameter of the tires has to be different with that much load difference front to rear...then worse tire wear, drivetrain wear, and mileage?

Thanks!

The max is 50 so you do have far to go, I have run 50 all around, 50 in the front 40 in rear seems to give the best ride, 50 in the front and the tires have very little sidewall buldge. Diameter is a constant as long as the tires are not aired so high that they do not touch on the full width of the tread, even if they buldge a little the diameter is still the same. I would think all four at 50 would give you the best mileage.

Diameter is not constant under different loads at the same pressure. I could measure the distance from the rim to the ground and figure out the air that way.

I hate having to run two different tire pressures...

I'am running 46 in the front and 34 in the rear. Seem to be wearing OK, I might be a little low in the rear, but my trailers are well balanced so I keep the weight off the back.

cquestad, I have always run different air pressure because the engine is so heavy.

I run 50 all around and my tires look exactly the same. Initially I ran 40 but the fronts looked like they were too low on air. Towing a 12,000 lb trailer the tires did not sag at all......

Same here - 50 x 4 w/ and w/o a load. works great w/ my 10000lb toy hauler. Unless I'm in the sand, then it is 20 x 8.

I bumbed the front up to 50 this weekend and it seems better. The rear are still at 45. The sidewall bulge is almost identical front to rear now.

My 315's on H2's came to me @ 38lbs and the ride was great at that pressure. Over the weekend, I cranked them up to 48lbs in hopes to get some better mileage... now she rides like a tank. I'll do a mileage check at this pressure (48lbs x 4) then I think I may drop the rears to 40lbs to see if that helps the ride.

tire psi

I run 50 in the front and 40 in the rear. At 50 the front bulges a little, and the rear actually puts all the tread on the ground at 40.
