Timing Rattle & Programmers
Do the various programmers have the added "timing rattle". getting curious to know what else is out there. Quad has been go just want to know about the programmers and which ones don't add timing rattle that would be a good choice for a small bump on the power from stock and a good bump on MPG form stock. Beware i want to keep my stock tranny.
If you are on a stock trans then you may want to stick with your Quad. Programmers and DLs are great for extra off the line power but that is what can kill a trans quickly. Of course it's all in how you drive too. For a plug in box I have not had one that had the low end response that the Quad boxes give. Which Quad box do you have? You can upgrade to an X2 and have many downloadable options available to you....
Kind of a conundrum there. Timing rattle comes from adding timing. Adding timing gives a little more power and mpg for free. (Meaning no extra fuel) Timing is set back at the factory for emissions.
To get what you seek means putting up with a little more rattle. No rattle=less mpg&power from less timing. No real way around that regardless of the programmer. The ones that have less rattle, have less timing.
