I just bought toyos BUT only because the size I went to is not available in the Hercules Terra Tracs I've been running. In 20+ years of 4X4s, that is one of the most impressive tires I have ever run.

In my experience, the BFG's have lasted longer than my Toyo's. I'll go with something other than Toyo's next time.

I just got rid of BFG's with about 12K on them and about half the tread left. Won't get another set of them as that's the 4th set on various trucks that have not performed as advertised. Maybe I'm just a slow learner but I did replace them with Toyo's this time. I would dearly love to know how some folks are getting so many miles out of their tires on these trucks. I rotate every 5K or less and never get what some people are talking about, not even close.

My take is Toyo AT's and use chains if it gets bad enough that they won't get you through. MT's wear awfully fast if you drive on the pavement very much.

32k and just under 1/2 tread on those Hercules I mentioned - easy 60k mile tire. Pretty aggressive tread for an AT but quiet at the same time.

You need more agressive tread...for what??? Snow...

MT's (mud terrain's) work best in the mud not snow.

AT's on street driven trucks do better in the snow then MT's.

I love my toyo MT's and have 32K hard and abused miles on them.

I had 315 BFG AT's on my last truck and it did alot better in the snow then my Toyo MT's. With my bfg I could go off road in the deep snow but with my MT's I stay on the snow covered highway.

I knew this but I didnt care because I wanted the agressive look of toyo MT, it just so sexy compared to the boring old BFG.

So if you want the look and attitude of a MT then get the toyo's but dont expect them to perform like the bfg's did in the snow.
