Banks Exhaust install ?

I installed a Banks Exhaust last night on my truck and of course after installing began to question if I put it on backwards??? I know this sounds stupid but when I went to put the muffler on it was flanged on both sides and therefore could be put on either or. I installed it like the diagram in the manual...but could I have installed it backwards?
Sound wise...at idle in cab quieter than stock, cruiseing at 65 its got a nice tone to it. However if I accelerate hard its really barks loud and around 2k rpm if I accelerate to change lanes it starts to get pretty loud in the cab. I dont recall my friends sounding like this when I test drove his 6 months or so ago. So thats why I'm wondering if I could have installed that muffler backwards.

Its a straight through muffler so I really don't see how it could possibly be installed backwards. I just dont recall my friends sounding that loud in the cab when getting on it. Maybe it just needs to break in some? I guess I'll find out tonight...I have to drive to WI (725 miles) so will see how it does.
I will say the low end response is much better, EGT's seem to be down about 50* while cruising 65-70. But no black smoke

Otherwise install was only 20 minutes and if I had read the directions fit perfect
I guess if I installed it backwards its going to the muffler shop to get redone cause I'm not getting back under there in 4* weather to fix it

Did you have a CAT on there as well? You can look into the muffler (at least mine) and see a stamped arrow on some of the primary baffle plates.
Oh well, never mind... you'd have to lay under the ol girl in 4* weather and suffer thru another back wrenching exercise to even see it.

I get the hangers off by spraying them with wd40 and using a large pair of channel lock pliers on the rubber part and the metal pieces that go through them. Give it a good squeeze and they come right out. The banks muffler is supposed to have an expansion chamber on the inlet side and is the same as pipe ID on the outlet side. Mine also had the word inlet lightly stamped on one side.
If it's a Banks Monster Exhaust, you should be able to read the writing (Banks MONSTER Exhaust) on the muffler clearly from the passenger side of the truck. It would be installed backwards if you can only read the writing from the driver side.
LOL...yeah I put it on backwards...guess if I had bothered to look at the muffler I would have seen the stamp that said "input" 
yeah I guess it took quite a bit longer than it really should have

6-1/2 hours holy moly man... I can do a whole 5" exhaust in an hour by myself
