Thoughts on ATS Torque Converter and Valve body?
Thoughts on ATS Torque Converter and Valve body?
thinking of ways to upgrade my 48RE so it will handle more of the TST power levels
I was thinking about a: ATS torque converter and Transgo shift kit
or
More money spent b: ATS torque converter and ATS valve body
Any suggestions?

Yes...you will like a Stage III or above ATS very very much. Any of the big three are a huge improvement over stock...even at OEM power levels.
I would think a valve body and a converter is the minimum. You will need billet internals if you improv you airflow so you can really use the upper levels of your stack.
Personally...I would get it all done at once...shell out the 4-5k now.

DTT offer same for alot less money. Yes they say TC and VB combo will snap input shaft off under load so you need billet internals. You have to pull Tranny for the TC anyways.
Good Luck!
P.S: I love my Tranny Now! She Hooks up!

Any of the three will work for sure. I have what I have for my reasons. Just do yourself a favor and find someone near you who has one modified and drive it. Then research each company until one gives you a fuzzy feeling and drop the coin. I would not mix and match tranny parts like a tc anc vb from two different companies. They might be hesitant to warranty something if there is a problem with the tranny. Happy bombing

not exactly like it. a few years ago I had a 1989 jeep grand wagoneer that was the same color as my truck with a lift 35's and black wheels. I wanted to do my truck the same way. Just something about black wheels on a grey truck!!!

PS. We just have good taste!!!!!

Same lift, used to run a VA, black wheels, BFG's, pillar, etc. Good thing we are 1500 miles apart or so...

thanks for the replys....
This stock 48re feels good now but the more power I add to it the more I think an upgrade would help. With the bddl at 90 hp and the tst at 4/4 the trans doesnt drop Rpm 's much when it changes from 1 to 2 to 3 only when it goes into 4 does it drop rpms
I bet that ATS Torque converter or DTT stuff makes stock settings feel more powerful
