there are tons or threads about this and the general consenus seems to be the same on them all...there are about 4-5 big name companies that all make a great product. the ones that come to mind are

Goerands bros
DTT
HTS
Suncoast
ATS

im sure there are lots more too

they are in no particular order. i personally would use all of them excpet the last...but thats just me

There are soo many posts here about this it's not funny. Take a day or two and use the search to read the volume of info on this. Like Brett said there is a top 5. As far as issues go with any, you tend to here the most from ATS. Just call these guys and go with your gut/who you feel the most comfortable with. You will not go wrong in any direction with the names listed above.

I would go w/ a Suncoast TC and a Dunrite VB if that's all your going to do.

Dave Goerend takes his VBs a couple steps beyond Dunrite's. Tony and Dave are good friends. Dave use to start with a VB kit from Dunrite and then take it to the next level. I don't believe he's starting with the Dunrite kit anymore, but rest assured, his VB is at least as good now as then. I can also attest - as well as input from a builder and several owners - that it works a lot nicer than a DTT VB.

The Suncoast TC is a good unit. Dave has - or at least had - a huge table with a cut open TC from just about everyone building TCs. After what he told and showed me, I would only go with a Goerend or Suncoast - just my opinion.

With that said, I've heard a lot of good things about Dusty at HTS and have talked to him on the phone. He uses the Suncoast TC. If I was donig a Vb and TC today, I would go with Goerend or HTS. I believe Goerend is also the only one offering a lifetime warranty on a TC - plus it's unconditional - meaning if you twist off the input shaft into the TC he still warranties it.
