thinking about entering local truck and tractor pull
At the end of the month we are going to have a local truck and tractor pull. I am thinking they are going to have the sleds there to pull. I was wanting to see what the truck would do. What settings do I need to put my bullydog on and also what level on the ez. I have the outlook monitor so I will watch my temps. Should I start off in 4 low or what? Just curious never done it before. Right now I am running in crazy larry and the ez on level 1, getting over 20mpgs.
x2....??
I believe a lot of guys just use 4hi and go in 3rd or perhaps 4th in the manuals. But those guys have much, much stronger than stock clutches to hold the taller gears. If you've got a stock clutch, you better have another truck and trailer there ready to get you home if by chance you toast it.

Its just an event for charity nothing major just to try and raise money for the fire dept., but if its going to tear the clutch up i will not even do it. I wasnt going to dog the **** out of it to get the fastest time just curious if it would pull it without hurting anything.

True. Now I haven't pulled a sled and don't intend to, but on a dirt track how do you tell the difference between tires spinning or the clutch slipping?
My buddy just hooked his '06, with only 15,000 miles on it, up for the first time. He has an Edge Juice w/attitude. His first run was 4lo in 3rd, not enough wheel speed to be competitive but it pulled pretty well. His second run he used 4th and smoked the clutch bad. Hope that little bit of info will help. He intended on replacing the clutch at some point with a good one anyway, this just confirmed that the stock clutch sucks.
