Superchips Firefly???

Has anyone tried the new Firefly from Superchips. It is supposed to enhance towing with three power levels, 25, 45 and 65hp max. I know not high numbers, however to help with towing it sounds good. Comes with one dual function guage for EGT and BOOst up to 50. The guage is a touch screen for the 3 power levels. Looks pretty cool for a 2 1/4" guage. I am considering buying it, but would like some feedback from someone who has used it or beta tested for it.

Thanks, Len

I had looked into them a little, but for the gains that you get, seemed like a little pricey. But then, you have to consider, you are getting on the fly adjustability, 3 power levels, pyro and boost gauges, so the price seems fair. Sorry, didn't try it myself, but am interested to see what folks have to say about it.

I would buy seperate boost and pyro and a smarty. I have the superchips flashpaq and am not pleased with their customer service lots of broken promises. The smarty will give you so many more options and you will be getting true readings of boost and Egts with the analog guages. case in point once you add poewr you will see that you are running against the stock boost limiter and need a boost fooler $80.00 the electronic boost guage will read the fooled pressure 38psi instead of the actual pressure If I could do it over Id buy a smarty. Just my .02cents

I have the firefly, i like it for what it does. Decent package with the gauge for pyro and boost in the same gauge. Also makes it nice for a little extra power just by touching the screen. I currently have it stacked with the flashpaq. I will agree with tbarbee1, there customer service is not the greatest.

How is the stack working I talked to Ivan at SC the otherday and he told me it wouldnt work and that dodges already made enough power that I should quit before I broke something. Its always nice when some Jack@#$ tries to be you dad instead of answering your questions.

And there is the problem with superchips, they like to be mommy. thus why they wont release the extreme tune. ALSO, if you read the latest news on the Flashpaq, it says now compatable with the firefly.

So far, i am extremly pleased with the stack. Unfortunatly, i need a new clutch (or hydrualics) or both, to be able to use the stack well. Peformance on a truck with 37s will slip. add the firefly and she really slips. Great stack though.

No, I would like to but my clutch or hydraulics are pretty torn up. I run around with the firefly off and superchips on tow, and if i hammer it, my pedal loses all of the pressure and i have to "pump" the pedal to get it to work again.
That is strange the superchips guy told you that and it says on there website it is stackable. There is a thread over at flashpaq.com about stacking the two. Before my clutch problems, I could run performance and 3 on the firefly as long as i was careful not to build to much power to low in the rpm. It would smoke pretty good and pull like no other. It was faster than my buddies truck (Identical except in color) and he has the juice with (i cant remember, something for pressure. ).
On the gauge thing, The boost pressure should be right on, it has nothing to do with the fooled pressure, it takes the pressure right from the map sensor. My understanding of the flashpaq is that it does do boost fooling. Members with the flashpaq and mechanical gauges are saying they are hiting 42psi or so. It could be i am confused, but i am pretty sure the boost pressure is reading actual pressure. Also the pyrometer is nice, i wish it showed below 500 degress, but it is acurate tested against a dannin.

Be careful with superchips products. I had the flashpaq and it fried my ECM on my brand new truck. Lights flashin, horn, blinkers, burnt electrical smells. I seriously thought it was going to blow as I was running from my rig, then it just shut off - Dead bird. Off all the tow trucks a powerjoke had to come get my stranded a$$. Then to top top it off superchips costomer service absolutley sucked, they said there was nothing they could do except for me to take out my ECM and send it to them, basically my truck would of been down for three plus weeks. Not an option for those who work for a living. In the end I told superchips to shuv it. My killer diesel shop sent me an EZ for free, my dealer replaced my ECM in two days under warenty w/no questions. And the new ECM completly rid of my long crank issue that many others experience w/06 cummins, along with making my truck idle and run muck smoother. So in the end, some how it all worked out, but I will never support superchips again. This is just my experience, no dis-respect to those that run superchips and have good results. Amen.
