Stupid ? about exhaust

I just bought a 2006 CTD quad cab 2500 truck. I just rolled over 700 miles. I know that it came with 4 inch exhaust. I assume it is possible to just purchase a performance muffler and the Y pipe to run duals. Is this correct? Has anyone else done this and if so what type of price am I looking at? Noone seems to advertise just the muffler etc. Also this wouldn't do anything to affect my warranty would it? Would this be too soon to do this type of thing? Any info would be great. I'm new to adding accessories to a diesel so forgive me for asking such questions.

Call DPP about the muff and pipes. Unless you just want the dual look you will not gain anything performance wise. Only your dealer can answer the warranty question but I HIGHLY doubt they would void your warranty for that. I had mine straight piped before I rolled 400 over and had my quad box on at around 900.

I am more interesed in the sound of the exhaust. My dad has a ford f350 king ranch. He put 4 inch exhaust (not sure of muffler type) and a stainess tip on it and the truck sounds great. He went to City Muffler in OKC. I assumed putting duals on would make it sound even better. Is that not right?

Your muffler should not bother your warranty. My dealership told me you can do anything from the converter back and it would not void the warranty, but messing with the downpipe or the converter would void warranty.
