stock turbo specs

Ok, I spent about 30 minutes earlier today and about an hour just now trying to find specs for the stock turbo on 600 and 610 engines. I'm tired of looking so I'll just ask.
Now that ATS has finally released wheel specs for their turbos, I want to compare my 3k to a stocker to see which might be better suited for a compound setup with an s400.
I'm looking for the inducer and exducer size of the compressor wheel as well as the drive wheel. If I remember right, the exhaust housing is 9cm.

The stock compressor wheel is a 62mm on the 04.5 and up turbos.

If that's true, why are the aftermarket 62's so much better in the cooling department?

Because the trim might be a little different and or the exducer wheel is bigger. But it is true.

I thought that the 600/610 were 57mm.

I'm pretty sure that's what I was told once when I called HTT last year. I'm just looking for a little more info than that.

chrleb1 - The exducer is not a wheel. Inducer and exducer reffers to the front and back edge of the wheel. So a compressor wheel has an inducer and exducer. For example, my 3k has a compressor wheel with an inducer of 57mm and an exducer of 81mm. The ratio of those two numbers is the "trim". So the 3k has a huge trim. What I am trying to find out is what the exducer side of the stocker is so I know how much less trim it has, as well as info on the drive(exhaust) wheel so I can compare it to the 3k. I know the 3k has a much larger exhaust housing.

No wonder I couldn't find it when looking. Someone has to know. Guess I can try to call a couple turbo places and see if they can tell me.

More like 62mm @ the inducer.

Vendors will always try to say their turbo is "bigger" rather than just tell the truth. Heck sometimes they just dont know any better.
Ask the guys at HTT if they even have a Cummins in the parking lot....I bet the answer is no.

The advantage of the aftermarket turbos with 62 wheels up front is that they use a larger turbine housing and have larger turbine wheels that allow your engine to really breathe on the top end.

57/58mm is where the 03/04 555 turbo's were at (@inducer/compressor)

With just a Smarty and an XZT would a 64mm be too big or just right? I wanted to go with a 62/13/71, but if that's not going to be big enough.

A 62/13/71 or a 64/13 would be great even with stock injectors.

I know, i meant to say pinwheel. I do have a little understanding of turbos. Just a little tired lately. HTT and II 62mm turbos are the same compressor wheel with a larger exhaust housing and larger pinwheel. When you play with the 04.5+ turbos, they will flow like a hx-40.

The guy I talked to at II said, with my mods, plus a smarty I should get a PS 6280CRL from them.They couldn't tell me what the specs were thoe.Would that be the one for me?
