Lift pump died on my 03, can I replace it w/a walbro or a fass, or do I have to have a stock one along w/ the ones above? thanks, charlie

On the way home from dinner tonight, I got a CEL, P0148, my friend says it is probably the lift pump too. (Though I am still able to drive)

He suggested going with the stock pump if funds were tight or just getting the FASS if I had the cash. I am also looking for guidance, the $400(???) for the FASS is not a problem, just wondering if that money would be better spent elsewhere?

Sorry for the hijack.

I used the GDP Walbro 391 kit. It's an excellent kit and works just as excellent! A lot of guys stay away from the in-tank DC pump for various reasons. It still isn't big enough for high hp, it's an even bigger pain to change if it quits and it's best to stay above 1/4 tank to help cool it. Get the tank vent kit while you're at it (well worth ~ $35) and you can use the old vent stub for the return from the Walbro. Kill two stones with one bird! Craig

I agree with C Schomer... Id go glacier kit and do the vent mod while you have the tank dropped. There are cheaper ways to run a walbro pump but if you need a pump, its all there. Im piecing my kit together.

Yep, I bought 2/3 of the kit and pieced the rest together. I think I got the pump, bypass, elec. pigtail, adaptor block and hose for the back of the filter. I hardpiped the rest with SS. I also got a banjo bolt for the CP3 so I can periodicly check pressure. Craig

Gow ith the Glacier have one on my truck and love it. You do not have to drop the tank on the 03-04.5 trucks only the ones with in-tank pump. Best money I have spent.

It has had the rough / jumping idle every now and then, I was going to take it in to the dealer this week for the TSB about that.
