It does click/thunk when going straight but only on uneven rougher roads where the wheel is moving just off center.

I don't think it is the wheels either I think there is something allowing too much flex/play in the steering.

I drive a lot on back country two lane roads here in TX at 70+ mph (that is the speed limit) And it is at its worst in these situations because you are constantly adjusting the wheel.

And it makes this sound/feel right off center.

I can't believe I am the only one that has had this problem. URGH

XLR8R- Love the fab work but I have no way to do it.

Is there any aftermarket steering enhancements available for newer trucks?
I thought Dodge was supposed to have fixed all of these steering problems on newer trucks...

What wheels are your BFGs mounted on - specifically what backspacing?

Stock front suspension?

I know where you can get some of that fab work!

I got a hold of Borgeson and the steering shaft part # is 950 for the '95 thru '06. They just haven't updated the site.

t-boe; Thanks for the info, that was really cool of you to check in on that!
Do you think that is the solution to my problem? They seem to think so... I also have a hard time believing that one part for trucks from 95' on is used??? Dodge doesn't change much do they...

XLR8R; Yep... stock wheels, stock suspension. I have left it stock to try to prevent from having problems with DW and steering.

Guess that didn't work...

Strange - the BFG 315s on my '05 stock suspension worked fine for 30K miles.

Thats what I am try to say here... this should not have happened on an 06' truck...

I am wondering if I do the Borgenson shaft and could find a reinforcement for the steering box it would solve the problem???

You or good mechanic should try to narrow down the problem a little more before throwing parts at the problem (I've been told that before). It'll save some green. You're looking at just under $500 for those parts.

Well the thing is I am still under warranty and they will probably fix it again but I would like to know what the real problem is as well. I don't think my dealer will do much but throw the same part on there...

So I was thinking about paying for the better/correct parts and then see if they will cover the labor to install them... Probably not going to happen but a man can dream right?

I bet you it's something really simple that no one will look for.

Of course... So should I just spring for the steering shaft?

If I got a Kore or other brand leveling kit would it include parts that would help or make it worse?
