stacks..which ones?????

Looks like I am finally going to pull the trigger and go with stacks. My stock muffler is gone at 60k already. I do little to no work with my truck except go to work with it. I parked my camper on the water for the summer so not much towing to do. I am thinking about the stack being a bit loud but can probably tone them down with a muffler if I have to. So now to the questions. Do I get them on ebay? Which ones? Turnouts or mitre? I like the looks of the mitres but thinking the truck may stay cleaner with turnouts? 36 inch? 5 or 6 inch? Chrome or stainless. Need some help here as you guys know the answers. Thanks.

I would go with no smaller then a 6" stack. Anything smaller looks tiny anymore as I among others are now running 8" with the majority of people running 7". Stainless stacks look OK but don't really shine like chrome either.

To get an idea of what styles and sizes of stacks look best look at blackclouddiesel.com they have lots of stack pics. 6" ausies would look pretty good I think on your rig if your set on some sort of turnout.

Depanding on where your at, I would go with a custom made set. When you order stacks - you get what you get and thats it. Ive had my last 2 sets custom built and its the only way to go.

Rains a lot here in NY so I am wondering if I want the mitres or not? I think I would have to cover them everyday. I think on a white truck they would make a mess quicker. If I had a set of turnouts pointed back the soot might land on the black bedliner? I am thinking probably 6 inch.

Truth be told I dont care what style you go with if you are pushing any fuel you will have soot flakes on your truck all the time. I can wash my truck, and as soon as I start it little black spots apear all over. Its just part of the game, not trying to chase anyone away just letting you know one of the downsides.

Just did a search on the stacks looking at tons of pics. I think I still like the mitres the same height as the cab. Looks like a lot of people are heading toward the aussies. Not sure I like them yet. May have to see more pics of an 06 with them. Ceartainly a lot of choices out there.

go with a single 6" mitre or turnout. Duals are for V8's.

Here are my stacks, 6" miters (chrome) and the covers that I put on them when the truck is not in use. I get little to no soot on the truck and I have plenty of fuel to have soot.

Kinda starting to look more at the Aussie stacks. Found a set of 7 inch but not sure I want that big. Was thinking 6inch.
