Smarty XZT stack probs, quad HELP

Im getting Check sum error/high voltage check sum/map sensor voltage/fuel preassure DTC's and...here is the kicker while in cruise, I pushed in the clutch and it reved all by itself all the way to 4 grand and the only thing that would make it quit was to hit the cruise off button. I only put it in cruise cuz it was actin real goosie on the throttle and sorta intermittent. So whats my problem?
It worked real good for 3 blocks and then I got the check engine light and problems. The smarty was on 9 version 4.05 4.05

My first guess is to make certain you have the rail pressure plugs in the right direction. I have a had a few people do this by mistake and it definately causes some issues.

The checksum error is caused by reprogramming the truck with the Smarty.

My guess is that the rest of the codes are from a plug either not seated or the rail plug is backwards.

If that is not it let me know.

Thanks 97, your recomendation sold me on the xzt by the way. Is that the way yours acted when you get it bass ackwards?

If thats the one I think it is then its the connector with nipples on both sides of the plug. I may need to mark it with a sharpee or something to fix this problem. What is the way of knowing its backwards.

On one side it is sort of a U shaped piece and you have to hold the release down to get it over.

The other side looks more like a ramp. That is the side you want the lock or release to go over.

The U shaped side is just for "keying".

So I hooked itn all back up and the same thing happened. Stopped up the road and I flipped the one your talkin about over and then it wouldnt start. So I flipped it back over. Same thing. So I unhooked it again. I dont know whats wrong.

I should state that I bought it from a DTR member who hasnt been a member for long and I only paid him half the money up front. I wouldnt expect you to fix it quad but I would like to understand what is going on. I still would like to use a light pres. box to get that little bit and I hear yours is the smoothest so Im still interested in the xzt but I wonder what else I should try? I do still have the edge box on here but it is turned off since it doesnt do anything with the smarty on there. Would numbers off the box or my truck help in any way?

Is it plugged in good at the module itself?

The next thing to try is to put the bypass plug in and see if it is a wiring harness problem or not.

Make sure it has the right part number on it as well. DXZT2 i think. Make sure it has a 2 on it or it will not work right.

Either way we will fix it, I don't care who or where you bought it from unless it is like forever old or something was physically broken from abuse or something silly like that.

If you get me the serial number I can see if it has ever been in for service or how old it is.

Might have been deserving if I had actually got the truck to run properly?

Yeah - I recommend buying from Lary and supporting DTR!

He gave me a great deal on a Quad Race/Smarty combo purchase, and was quite courteous and polite to boot... talk about an iron fist in a velvet glove!

Tell that guy to call our tech support unless it is really super old. This way we can at least check it out or fix anything so he can sell it to someone with confidence.
