Smarty Programs...
Beta 4.3 or 4.4 vs the new 4.10 or 4.12 software?
Can I go back to Beta 4.3 or Beta 4.4? I think I am still short on CP3 is my main problem...but which program is the dyno buster that still has linear throttle response and reasonable smoke/street manners.
Let the opinions fly...thanks!

I'd say definitely 4.4. And Marco did an "emergency" revise of that to work for the folks that had already used that "latest" DC flash that disallowed using the old programs. PM Mr. Wagner about it.
But honestly, I think that using 4.10 or 4.11 with the MP-8 just puts you at beta performance levels anyway or at least so close as to not worry about the difference.

Can I go back...or should I just wait for the new race program?
I still think I am going to sit on this one for a while...and fix my cp3 fuel supply problem.

this is a quote from Bob in another thread..........
In other words.... if you have a 06 or 07, going back isn't a problem. If you don't... there's no going back.
The 2006 and 2007 trucks are not affected by any chrysler updates so that is why the beta's work for you
Chrysler did updates for the 2003 2004 and 2005 truck which forced us to add their fixes to the smarty.

I have an 04 that had the Smarty beta 4.4 loaded and Im pretty sure in Oct. they reflashed my truck. Maybe not, but I now have some horn honking situation on my truck when its in reverse and the door is open.
....but I still seem to have my software loaded, ie. I didnt have to reprogram after leaving the dealership. Its still on there. Still seems strong, but I havent switched from lvl 3.
Do you guy's think its still on there? How can you tell if you had a 4.4 program on, then went to the dealer and there was still power added from the Smarty? It wouldnt have gone back to a stock smarty or messed it up could it?

You just need to plug in the smarty to your truck and the first or second screen will tell you whether there's a program loaded or if it's the stock sw.

I heard your kinda 'up the creek' if they flash your truck while Smarty is on there. The Smarty will think that you're trying to load it on more than one truck and if the truck is flashed (while Smarty is installed) the Smarty hardware will be VIN locked.
I remember reading warnings about that I think in paperwork I recieved with the Smarty.

I've tried 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 and i prefer 4.4 as it makes all the power of the 4.2 and 4.3....it's just a touch smoother throttle sensitivity.....any of them are monsters compared to the standard smarty software.....i dont think you'd be disappointed with any of them vs the standards....if you're on an older version of the smarty software and havent yet tried 4.3 or 4.4....give it a try....if you dont like it, go to the current standard smarty softwares....but i'll bet the farm you like the betas.

I you can get it I would say go for the 4.4 also. I have tried the others and the 4.4 is much nicer to drive on my truck and from what I have read they all dyno within 5-10hp of each other and they are all pretty equal in the 1/4 too.
