Last Saturday I done a MPG check. I ran the same interstate on the same day with the same wind conditions (approx. 5-8 MPH SW wind) running south and then turning around and running back north on both runs. I ran 65 MPH as per speedo, the GPS said 64.2 Average. The outside temperatures were -8*F. Filled up at the same pump facing the same direction both times. Miles driven per run was 121.6. I have the tank vent modification so I can fill to the top of the tank. I filled until fuel was ready to spill out of fill spout both runs. The truck was fully warmed up as I had to drive 65 Miles just to get to where I filled on with fuel and do the interstate run. This was nontowing.

Before Smarty Jr.
18.25 MPG
625 EGT's

After loading Smarty Jr. on towing mode which is level 2 on Jr. = level 3 on Smarty Sr.
19.42 MPG
490 - 525 EGT's

On the mads web site the claim 200* drop in egt over stock again not sure on level the are talking about .
That was I who posted that. But I have twins and run cooler when towing anyway, so not exactly a straight comparison for stock turbos. But the change was still relative to the point that in my opinion you can tow on 100hp as long as you are watching your temps and aren't dong anything TOO heavy or extreme.

I going to get mine in WA. on the 21st which is going to be a 1000KM trip. I WILL DO MILEAGE DOWN AND AFTER I DOWNLOAD THE JR. AND ON MY WAY HOME. SO I WILL KNOW MILEAGE WITH AND WITHOUT THE JR. .I WILL PROB HAVE IT ON THE PERFORMANCE SETTING. MY TRUCK IS STOCK AND HAS NO GAUGES YET SO I WILL NOT KNOW TEMPS. I WILL POST MY MILEAGE FINDINGS. I AM NOT TOO CONSERNED ABOUT TEMPS AS THE MADS WEBSITE SAYS TEMPS ARE 200* LOWER THAN STOCK PROGRAM SO RUNNING EMPTY WON'T BE A ISSUE. WITH MY TRIP BEING LONG AND MAINLY HILLY WITH SOME LONG PULLS IT SHOULD BE A GOOD GAUGE OF MILEAGE AND PEFORMANCE.

Has Anyone Done A Mpg Comparison Between Jr & Sr?
Just Trying To Decide Between The 2.if Jr Is A Knock Off Of The New Sw's Of The Sr(1,3,5) Then I'll Get The Sr,but I Heard That Jr's Tune Is A Little More Refined In Regards For Mpg And Egt's.also, I Wondering If Level 1 Is Best For Mpg Because Of The Power Temptation Of Levels 2 And 3 Or Because That's The Design Of It.i Got The Best Mpg On Crazy Larry Vs. The Tow Or Performance Settings.just Trying To Make A Good Decision. Thanks For All Yor Advise(opinions)

I did comparisons with Jr. sw3 (100hp) vs Regular smarty sw7 (stock injectors/aftermarket turbo, mod TM) which I found to be my best mpg reg. smarty file. The results are just my truck only! Anyway, I get 2 mpg better than stock with the regular smarty file. The test with Jr. got me 2.1 mpg better than stock, or .1 mpg better than regular smarty. Not enough of a difference to really say there is one I think.

Yeh , If There Is A Difference Between The 2, It Probably Isn't Much.now On The Older Sw's Of The Sr There Probably Is A Bigger Difference.smarty Sr Has Come A Long Way.
