When you say "load the software after adjusting the options" do you mean the 5 or 10 min loading?? If so I did that, I don't have to do that after adjusting the TQ and TM do I??
I do have a stock auto, so the numbers you have above are "safe" for my stocker? I plan on towing a 14000 lb 5th wheel soon should I avoid running the higher settings??
I just got the Smarty so I'm assuming it has the newest software...
Thanks

Yes you have to redo the 5 minute load each time you adjust the timing and torque settings.
Yes, as "safe" as your right foot is.
When you plug the Smarty in it tells you the version number, compare that to the website to be sure.

AH64, I still have the Smarty programmed from 2 years ago. Meaning i have not updated the software to the latest. Is there a big difference from 2 years ago to now? If there is i will upload the latest onto the Smarty box.
Thanks in advance,

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
There is a difference. Seems like the throttle is more linear (smoother) than before. The older versions feel like as soon as the turbo spools up you get that "Instant" set you back in the seat power. Now is is much better with the same total power. A little easier on the trans and drive line too.

Check out their website. The newest version should be 5.13 v21.

Your right mine is outdated, what is the connector that fits the smarty used to connect to the computer, the manual calles it a USB but none of my own cords would fit.

I tried out differant setting without going stright to "Default"...Just didn't feel right and my milage sucked.
Switched to TOW/Default and it's MUCH better.
I'm going to give PERFORMANCE default a try. That had always been the best milage getter for me with the older version.

Just got back from a 1400 mile round trip. Played with different settings on 5.13 V21 and SW3 TM 4 TQ2 gives the best mileage on my 07 5.9. holding it down to 62 gave me 21.5 hand calculated and at 68 19.2. I know some claim 23+ , but I've never been able to get close. I run stock tires, foot on the throttle like an egg is under it, maintain clean air filter element, and fuel filter don't know anything else to try. Anyway I'm satisfied with 20+ and driving 61 and don't really mind 19+ at 68. After all these are 7100+ trucks. I do and I hope driving it like an old lady on SW3, TM4, TQ2 doesn't trash the transmission. All stock now. I did buy the Jr strickly for any milage increase and maybe some lower EGTs while towing. Haven't towed yet with Jr.

Torque Management ? ? ? ? ?
Count me as another new Smarty Jr owner. I'm currently running SW3 with default settings for TM & TQ and PoD at 80. With the exception of losing my overdrive lockout (TSB 21-006-07) I am pretty happy.
However there's one thing that I'm not completely clear on; What are the TQ setting with CaTCHER version 5.13a ?? I have seen posts that say TQ2 is the most "aggressive" (builds the most torque at lowest RPM) and ones that say TQ4 is "wild"... so which one is it?
Have the TQ settings reversed order over the course of Smarty development?
Thanks
-Mark
