Smarty and black smoke

Just wondering if the smarty puts out alot of black smoke. If so isn't alot of black smoke just a waste of unburned fuel. At what levels does it smoke alot. I would like to buy one, but from what I know and have heard you can make more USABLE HP running a clean tune. So should I invest in a smarty. My truck is a 2006 with auto. I have a Banks air box and silverline cat back exhaust. Thanks

It smokes on every setting. I can almost black out an intersection on the 60hp tune. It is the best out there,in my opinion.

smarty is the way to go. black smoke is bad it is unburned fuel, if your one of those guys who loves black smoke then get and edge box and blow up your truck. you buy a programmer for fuel economy useable power and lower egts not the opposite of the 3

I can barely get my truck to smoke with the Smarty set to power level 1 and the torque management at 1. At level 3 I'll start smoking if lugging the engine. Or set the torque management to 2 or higher.

The smarty is pretty clean, overall, for the power produced compared to some of the others. That said, you can adjust the smarty to your tastes, a lot of smoke or not so much...

If i didn't know better, the OP's post sounded like a Banks Troll...

I don't get the black smoke a lot of people talk about. My turbo may help a little, but I couldn't black out an intersection if I tried? I'm running TNT on number 5 and Mild TQ and I do run 5 gals of bio per tank, think that makes the difference? Don't get me wrong I do get hazing, but not the "Rolling coal."

no im not saying the edge is bad it just is dirty and egts are excessive for the most part my smarty doesnt smoke at all on 90 hp but the 03 and 04 injectors are smaller than the newer ones as i hear my buddies on the 60hp tune will smoke all over the place.

Black smoke for the most part is just part of the game. Lots of factors fuel quality being one. I know I'm running the Jr but she'll lay a cloud if I'm on it good and running sub par fuel or straite deisel. 500ppm is better then 15ppm but running B20 or greater all I get is a light haze at best. I will say the biggest contripitor to smoke is your right foot.
