Showin of the starts of my system
What do you guys think? Its just as wide as the center arm wrest/console so i can still lay the seat all the way back. Im also going to wrap it in Vinyl to match the interior. Im waiting on the samples in the mail.

I think it looks real nice. And the vinyl will look better than the carpet, but will it sound as good? (Doesn't the carpet deaden outside noises? I guess you could use Dynamat... But great work!)
not sure how much the carpet would deaden the sound if it even does. I am going to lay down a few layers of foam before the vinyl

No idea lol. I have not even gotten the vinyl samples in the mail yet and i need to get the sub. Going to tap into the back of the radio and run a high low converter. Cant hear the speakers behind the seat anyway.
Sounds sweet. I have always been told that is the reason for using carpet on sub boxes. Not trying to shoot your plan down, because it looks and sounds sweet. Just thinking out loud...
I biult one last week. It goes under the center seat in the 98. Had to take the seat out, and cut away foam under the seat. It came out really nice. Its only a 8 inch sub. You cant even feel the box when you sit on the seat. I belive JL audio makes a box for under the center seat on a 2nd gen.
. It is commonly done in automotive to make things look nice, that's it.
I have built many other complex systems in the past. I have always used vinyl and it has always sounded great. For this system i am not going for big resonating bass either. I just had an old reg cab box sittin around and i got bored so i just made a stand on it and added some siding to make it contour to the cargo box and the rear of the cab.
